We are proud to recognize Tate Ulrich as our Provider of the Month!

"Mental health is not a concept that can be achieved without considering the complex, inextricable and interconnectedness of the whole person. We are more than diagnosis codes and symptom lists. Health goes beyond a prescription.

Hippocrates: “It is far more important to know what PERSON the disease has than what disease the person has.”

I practice Integrative Psychiatry, which is focused on the whole person, root cause discovery versus symptom management, and using all available means to achieve the best outcomes. While traditional medications can be a tool at times, my goal is to minimize their use.

Hippocrates: ““The greatest medicine of all is teaching people how not to need it”

Understanding that our systems function best when we provide the essential components for overall health, I strive to understand all aspects of a person’s situation. I explore what might be missing to help clients take control of their best lives through self-discovery, nutrition, exercise, and mind-body work.

Hippocrates: “Leave your drugs in the chemist’s pot if you can heal a patient with food.”

- Tate Ulrich

Social media helps us stay connected, but research shows it can also impact how connected we feel.

A national study of nearly 65,000 U.S. college students found that over 54% reported feeling lonely, and students who spent around 2 or more hours per day on social media were significantly more likely to report loneliness. The heaviest users (30+ hours per week) were about 38% more likely to experience loneliness compared to lighter users.

Social media itself isn’t inherently harmful, but our relationship with it matters. Taking small steps like limiting scrolling time or prioritizing in-person connection can help support your mental well-being.

Daylight Saving Time means losing an hour of sleep, and many people notice feeling a little more tired, foggy, or off routine for a few days. Our bodies rely on consistent sleep schedules, so even a one-hour shift can take some time to adjust to. Getting sunlight during the day, sticking to a regular bedtime, and limiting screens before sleep can help your internal clock reset.

Teens Using AI for Mental Health Support
https://buff.ly/SVPn6tG

More teens and young adults are turning to AI for mental health advice than ever before. Recent research shows that about 1 in 8 youth have used AI tools to talk about their feelings or get support. While AI can be a helpful starting point, it can’t truly understand emotions, recognize serious concerns, or provide personalized care the way a trained professional can. Real support offers human connection, guidance, and a safe space to work through challenges. If you or your child are struggling, support is available — you don’t have to navigate it alone.

It’s Brain Health Week (Feb 23–28) This week, organizations like the Center for BrainHealth are bringing together scientists, experts, and communities to share ways we can strengthen our brains and improve everyday wellbeing. The goal is to help people turn brain science into practical habits that support resilience, focus, and mental health.

Brain health isn’t just about treating problems — it’s also about building skills that help you adapt, cope with stress, and function at your best.

Small habits that support brain health and make a big difference:
• Getting enough sleep
• Managing stress
• Staying connected with others
• Moving your body
• Talking to someone when things feel overwhelming

Taking care of your mental health is one of the best ways to care for your brain. Therapy and real support can help build resilience and give you tools that last far beyond quick tips or temporary fixes.
