When it comes to medical advice: would you rather have a REAL DOCTOR or an AI answering your messages? 🤔

Epic, one of the largest EMRs in the US, is experimenting with using AI to answer portal messages from patients, so that the doctors can… spend less time interacting with patients? 🤷🏻‍♀️

There’s no doubt that AI will lead to tremendous breakthroughs in medical care, but replacing the doctor patient relationship with an AI-patient relationship is a giant step backwards.

You will always get the best care when you have a personal relationship with your actual doctor (who actually has time to talk with you).

A pilot at three large health systems will use generative AI to help doctors respond to patients’ questions in online portals.

We think healthcare should be personal to each patient, where medical decisions are unrestricted and between the patient and doctor. If you agree, consider supporting locally owned, independent doctor's offices. With Amazon's upcoming acquisition of many Denver primary care offices (OneMedical, PeakMed, Iora Health), many patients are unfortunately about to discover just how much control a corporation can have over your care.
