WHCA CESAREAN BIRTH RATE AND "NTSV" METRIC:
Our practice is proud to support one of the major modern initiatives to reduce the rising Cesarean birth rate in the United States. Created by the California Maternal Quality Care Collaborative, this initiative focuses on reducing the Cesarean birth rate amongst first-time moms with a full-term, singleton pregnancy in the head-down position. Affectionately known as the "NTSV" initiative, this metric is meant to help identify ways to support vaginal birth and reducing first birth cesareans. Our practice is proud to report our "NTSV" Cesarean delivery rate of 14.4% at Sky Ridge hospital for the year 2022! While Cesarean births can be life-saving and medically necessary, we strive to avoid Cesarean births when mom and baby's health allow for a vaginal delivery.
