Our mission is to improve the lives of humans through the immeasurable power of horses. Premier Accredited therapeutic riding program teaches basic horsemanship and horseback riding skills in an adaptive manner to meet the individual needs of our clients with disabilities of all ages.

August's Volunteer of the Month is Melissa! 🎉

Melissa may be a newer member of the TRS family, but she’s already become a barn staple! Always ready to jump in—even on the hottest summer days—she brings enthusiasm, energy, and a willingness to learn. Her quick learning and dedication make her an incredible help to our team.

Here’s what Melissa has to say in her own words about her experience volunteering at TRS:

⭐ When I walk into the TRS barn, the smell of horse p**p, sweat, and hay immediately affects me. I feel more relaxed, joyful, and energized.
⭐ I feel a genuine warmth from the community I’ve met at TRS–other friendly and helpful volunteers who answer all my questions, help me with big and little things, and care deeply about horses and the clients.
⭐ The clients and their support systems are wonderful, too. The little girl, whose name starts with the same letter as mine, who declared we were in the M team, gave me an unexpected hug, then pointed out my birthday on the calendar. The rider who moved my arm when she didn’t like where I was holding it as I was side walking beside her.

⭐ Yes, I’m volunteering to give to others at TRS, but really, this barn is giving everything to me. ⭐

We’re so grateful for the joy and support she brings to the barn every week! ❤ 💫

Meet Krista and her horse, Julisimo! 🎉

We are so proud to celebrate Krista, one of our amazing volunteers, who not only dedicates her time to TRS but is also an accomplished rider.

This summer, Krista and her horse, Julisimo, competed for four weeks at the Colorado Horse Park, earning several top placings—including an impressive 2'6" Carousel Derby win from a field of 29 entries.

We are so grateful for her commitment to our program and thrilled to cheer her on in all her successes!

Meet Scarlett! 🎉

Scarlett shined this summer in Beyond the Saddle, TRS’s ground-based horsemanship program—returning this December for the holiday break!

Diagnosed with autism at age 2, she’s found a welcoming space to connect with horses, learn new skills, and build confidence. With patient guidance from instructors Sierra and Sarah, Scarlett has grown in joy and self-assurance.

Her grandma Sally says, “I am forever grateful for the incredible impact this program has had on Scarlett’s life.” 🌟 🥰

We are making strides together! 💫

The average horse's stride is 12 feet, while a person's is about 2.5. When we ride, we get where we're going much faster—and that's true for our clients in more ways than just distance!

Regular time with their horse partners brings incredible physical benefits, like improvements in walking, running, and jumping. It's a truly amazing sight when a client who once struggled to walk is now taking off at a jog.

Your donations, time, and confidence in our program are what make this all possible. Thank you for helping our clients get where they're going, faster than ever before! 🎉

TRS Volunteers give so much—today was a day to give back to them 🙌 ❤

We were honored to have Devon Combs, the founder and leader of award-winning Unbridled Retreats, lead a group of volunteers in a special session that took time to focus on ourselves and the amazing connection and power of our own herd.

It was a special experience and amazing morning, and we're so thankful to Devon for putting this on for us, and for this incredible community of volunteers who keeps this program running day in and ay out! 🤗 🐴 ❤
