Stepping Stone Support Center works as a 'stepping stone' to provide more independence for adults with developmental disabilities. Stepping Stone will facilitate the valuable contribution that adults with developmental disabilities can bring to our community. We want to honor their unique qualities by providing different programs that will meet the full span of needs represented in this community. We provide 4 main types of services; program services through prevocational, life skills, and social opportunities, in-home supports with cooking, cleaning, laundry, mentoring, and respite, employment services, and residential supports. At Stepping Stone, we’re proud to celebrate the incredible hard work, dedication, and achievements of the individuals we support. We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to shine in the workplace, and we’re here every step of the way to help make that happen! From job coaching to skill-building, we encourage and empower people with disabilities to reach their goals.

We’re so excited to share a construction update with you all!
It’s happening—we’re making BIG progress! Drywall is up in most spaces, finishers were in this week getting areas ready for paint, mechanical is complete, electrical is mostly done, and plumbing is nearly wrapped. We did find a small leak and we’re on it.
We’ll share final dates soon, but we’re still aiming for an early November move-in as everything comes together this month. Thanks for cheering us on!

Celebrating the Life and Legacy of Matt S

Dear Stepping Stone Family,

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved friend and participant, Matt S, who passed away last night due to complications following a dental surgery.

Matt has been a cherished member of the Stepping Stone Support Center family for nearly our entire journey. In that time, his kindness, humor, and warmth touched countless lives. He is deeply loved by our community, and his absence will leave an ache in every corner of our hearts.

Right now, we especially want to surround his mom, Deb, with love, prayers, and support during this heartbreaking time. There are no plans yet for a service, but we will share details as soon as we have them.

For those who would like to help in a tangible way, we have set up a meal train for Deb. If you’d like more information, please reach out to Crista for the link and details.

Please keep Deb and all who love Matt in your thoughts and prayers. Our hearts are with his family, friends, and all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.

It’s Grand Lake Day!
We’re off on our 11th annual Grand Lake adventure with nearly 80 participants, staff, and volunteers! This special tradition is one of the highlights of our year, and we’re so grateful to spend the day boating, shopping, and soaking up the beauty of this incredible town.
Our onsite program is closed tomorrow so our whole group can enjoy this memorable day together!
A HUGE thank you to all the amazing boaters who generously donate their time and boats to give our participants this unforgettable experience. And an extra shoutout to the Grand Lake Fire Department for joining us again this year—taking us out on the fire boat and showing off the fire truck is always a crowd favorite! 🚒
This day is always packed with joy, laughter, and lifelong memories—and we’re so excited to make even more tomorrow!
