I hope this finds all of you healthy and safe!
I have happy news! I wanted to reopen slowly, to make sure the precautions mandated by the state, the precautions my office mate and I are taking, and what my other job is requiring, all were working. In addition, starting slowly gave more time for scientists to get a better idea of how this virus spreads.
I am happy to say the science seems to be masks work to diminish the spread of COVID. In addition to what is required by the state, my office mate and I decided on the added protection of a portable HEPA air filter, which according to this (https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2020/07/why-arent-we-talking-more-about-airborne-transmission/614737/), seems to be the very thing we needed since we can’t control the air flow into the office.
I am confident saying I am doing everything I can to keep the virus from spreading between clients, myself, and each other. With that in mind, I am now opening up to new (and of course returning 😜) clients!
Masks, for both the client and me, are required by the State to be worn for the entire massage. A temperature check before the massage is also required. I am following both regulations. In addition to this, I am asking everyone who has traveled out of the state to wait 10 days after your return to have a massage.
As always, you need to assess the risks you are willing to take in light of your own circumstances.
Face down can make breathing in a mask a little more challenging than it is upright. I have paper masks available as many people find them easier than cloth masks.
I hope to see you soon! 😃
How is it that six months into a respiratory pandemic, we are still doing so little to mitigate airborne transmission?
