After about 11 years of practicing Ashiatsu DeepFeet Bar Therapy, teaching changed everything.
I began having powerful “aha” moments—not just as an instructor, but as a practitioner. Teaching forced me to slow down, ask better questions, and truly observe my own body mechanics.
Then in 2019, teaching online created another shift. Without being able to physically move students, I had to rely on language, shared anatomical understanding, and clear communication. That experience transformed how I teach—and made my in-person classes even stronger.
Today, I create space for exploration in the classroom. I direct more, demonstrate less, and help students see what they’re doing versus what they intend to do.
One of my favorite moments is when a student says,
“Oh… I see how I’m leaning away from my work.”
That’s when it clicks. They learn to lean in, use gravity, and deliver deeper work with less effort. Movements become smoother, transitions easier, and Ashi Thai begins to feel like the dance it truly is.
I take the responsibility of teaching DeepFeet Bar Therapy seriously. My classroom is supportive and fun, but grounded in safety, accountability, and sustainable body mechanics—so students leave confident, informed, and capable.
✨ These “aha” moments—mine and theirs—are exactly why I teach.
