Let yourself relax into the moment with music or meditation or a warm cup of tea. Busy thoughts will eventually fade away if you focus on your breath of life and release feeding negative thoughts with any attention.

The effort is worth it to take over what goes on in your mind. Begin slowly and small by creating a healthy positive thought and repeat it. Our minds can only have one thought at a time. Which thought do you want to promote for a healthier you?

Anger is often our “go to” emotion, which is seldom satisfying. It has energy and a reputation for defending oneself. Anger is often a well learned coping mechanism from early family exposure. It was probably even less satisfying in the past.

Anger often haunts us from the past as an unresolved reaction. It is often unresolved because it is merely the top layer of a mound of emotions. Peeling off the layers to find resolution is a primary goal of therapy. A trained therapist may coax you through the terrain of past dysfunction and help open doors to personal insight to shed light on more functional answers.

Call today to explore more satisfaction with more coping tools.

It has done it again!
A New Year is here!
The last year was remarkable in so many ways.
Some ways were great, some good, some unforgettable and some I wish I could forget.
Never the less, it was a year we all lived through even though some of our closest souls did not make it to the end.
Here we are.
Do I look over the past or do I dream for the coming.
It is best to remain in the now.
Now is all that I can truly live.
Reflections brought to the present can allow my feelings to flow in this moment, so choose wisely which feelings provide the greatest gift today.
Planning ahead is the action I take now. I start the energy and its directional flow and feel the effects right now.
I feel hope and peace and may it be there for all to partake.
Happy New Year!
Happy living each moment now.

FYI: Hello again.
We are back on site with face to face counseling. We still provide Telehealth for those who desire it.

There is a transition to move back to inperson sessions but I must say, it is so much better. There is a better energy exchange and so much is said between the counselor and the client without words.

We have very nice outdoor offices on comfortable weather days for those vaccinated or not. iIs great to be outdoors in our canapy offices or next to the Medicine Wheel under the shady trees. Nature is so invigorating.

Call our office and say hi to our new front office person: Tonya!

We hope everyone is doing well.
Bright Path has been very busy the past year. We were fortunate to have been able to move all our therapists and front office staff home to use computers and phones to provide Telehealth for our clients.
We are currently still using Telehealth for our counseling services but have begun moving slowly back to our offices.
Our therapists are completely vaccinated for Covid-19.
We are starting to see some clients in person two weeks after they have been fully vaccinated.
All in person visits have to be set up by your therapist for right now.
Please be patient with our office as we keep adjusting to changes due to Covid-19.
Stay healthy.

If you find yourself not acting your usual way you are very normal. We are trying to adjust to a very abnormal situation. Not only is it abnormal and different it seems to be changing all the time. We aren't even sure what to adjust to. The new normal is a moving target.

We have a natural reaction to all this which is called shock. It is the protective state our mind goes to when we are overwhelmed. And there is no doubt these are overwhelming times.

Shock looks different in different people and then again it is different at different times. There are two kinds.

One kind is when you might find yourself withdrawing, not paying attention, forgetting, slowing down, sleeping more, procrastinating and losing interest.

The other kind is when you swing to the opposite and find yourself fidgeting, pacing, speaking rapidly, speaking louder, interrupting others, talking over others, being extra energetic and not knowing when to stop talking.

Both are examples of shock. We can function well in shock but we are existing in a diminished state. Recognize it and you can deal with it better. Seeing it in others will help explain unpleasant interactions. With knowledge, patience, understanding and forgiveness are closer at hand.

Recognizing it in oneself leads us to better action. We need to lower the overwhelm. Take a drink of water, brew a cup of tea, find comfort in a snuggly blanket or a warm conversation. Do whatever feels as though you are pampering yourself. Realize the shock and attend to it and change back closer to your regular self.

Hang in there. The earth still goes around the sun.
