TAKE ONE MOMENT NOW.
Please respond to this action alert and flood Republican Representatives' offices with calls and emails regarding the Budget vote that is possibly happening today in the House:
The Senate unfortunately made the original House bill worse. The Budget headed back to the House will add $3-5 trillion in debt depending on the source and an estimated $930 billion cut from Medicaid, Medicare and the Affordable Care Act according to the Congressional Budget Office. Millions of people will lose health insurance. And loss of health insurance means increased emergency room visits and increased healthcare costs for all of us.

Call and email Republicans today - Democrats are already fighting against the bill.

We need all psychology professionals, students and allies to continue to speak up on proposed deep budget cuts to programs that support vulnerable populations (women, children, veterans, people with disabilities and more), as well as the psychology workforce. These cuts will have far-reaching ripple effects at the state and federal level that will go beyond the healthcare and education sectors. If implemented, the scale of proposed federal budget cuts would force states into making impossible decisions. The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote this week. https://buff.ly/QqtgBAE

The Social Advocacy Open Topic Grant is open to doctoral level graduate psychology students enrolled in a NJ doctoral level psychology program. Its purpose is to support the process of a studentโ€™s doctoral dissertation and help defray research expenses incurred. The dissertation grant applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. If approved, the NJPA Foundation will develop an individual grant distribution schedule, per grant recipient. To be a candidate for this grant, a qualified graduate student must have a social advocacy topic that may or does impact underserved populations of New Jersey.
