✨ Thrive Thursday ✨
Before ABA, one of our biggest struggles with Elijah was severe elopement (running away) 🏃♂️🏃♂️🏃♂️
Simple things most families do every day felt impossible for us. Grocery store trips, community events, even quick errands often ended with one of us carrying him, using a specialized stroller designed for children with severe elopement, or having him attached to a safety harness because the fear of him running off was very real.
And when I say fear… I mean the kind that completely consumes you as a parent.
But after only a few months at Inclusion ABA, we started noticing changes.
Little by little, outings became easier. The fights to get away became fewer. We started walking hand in hand more often than carrying him. Eventually, we were able to donate the stroller and toss the harness completely.
Today, because of the guidance, support, and tools Inclusion ABA gave BOTH Elijah and me, we’re able to attend large gatherings, enjoy daily outings, and live with a freedom we honestly never thought possible.
Progress doesn’t always happen overnight, but sometimes the smallest steps become the moments that completely change your life. 💜
