I had the pleasure of speaking yesterday at the DeCorso Community Center in New Providence about the connection between hearing health and a healthy brain—and what an engaged group it was!
The audience asked thoughtful questions, shared their experiences, and the feedback afterward was truly wonderful. It’s always rewarding to see people connect the dots on such an important topic.
Many were surprised to learn:
• Untreated hearing loss can increase the risk of dementia by 200–500%
• Nearly 45% of dementia cases may be preventable based on current research
• Hearing loss is now considered the #1 modifiable risk factor for dementia
• Leaving hearing loss untreated is also linked to an increased risk of falls
I especially loved seeing so many people take photos of the slide highlighting the power of treating hearing loss—it’s a simple step that can have a profound impact on long-term health.
Providing education like this in our community is one of the core pillars of our practice, and I’m grateful for opportunities like this to spread awareness and empower others to take charge of their health.
👉 If you or a loved one have noticed signs of hearing loss, don’t wait—schedule a hearing evaluation and take the first step toward protecting your brain health.
👉 And if you’re part of a community group or organization interested in learning more, feel free to reach out—I’d love to bring this conversation to you!
Looking forward to the next one!
