What exactly is I.V. therapy? I.V. therapy is a way to put fluid, vitamins, minerals, and other helpful compounds directly into your blood stream. This method of administration bypasses the digestive system and increases the efficacy of absorption. Elle I.V. professionals curate your fluid mix to target your goals such as overall wellness or recovery.
Will it hurt? Unfortunately an I.V. does require a small needle to gain access to your vein. However, our specialty trained nurses utilize a local anesthetic to numb the area. The result? A tiny pinch that lasts less than 5 seconds which allows them to finish the I.V. without additional discomfort.
How long will it take? Each appointment lasts approximately an hour.
What happens during the appointment? A nurse will chat will you shortly about your health history and check your blood pressure. Then after you get comfortable in our recliners with your feet up the nurse will place the small I.V. and begin your drip of fluid. Once this is started you are free to read, scroll your phone, or just sip coffee and enjoy the quiet. Once the infusion is completed (usually 30 minutes) the I.V. is removed and a small bandage is put over the site. The nurse will check your blood pressure again and you’ll be out the door and on your way to better health.
Who starts the I.V.? Our highly trained RNs, who have over 41 years of cumulative experience in starting I.V.s, start all of the I.V.s at Elle I.V. events ensuring the best experience for you.
How often should I get I.V therapy? Customized I.V. hydration therapy twice a month is a little known secret to optimized health and wellness. Benefits can even be seen with once a month therapy and can be done as frequently as weekly. Specialized I.V. Hydration is also key to illness recovery. One session after battling flu, cold, or other not-feelin’-great episodes can have you back on your feet more quickly.
