Every year, the Anthony Minnefor, MD Award is presented to a unit, individual or department that demonstrates infection prevention excellence. This year’s recipient is the Cardio-thoracic Intensive Care Unit, selected for achieving 5 years without a Catheter-associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI). This is a remarkable achievement as the unit has over 1,100 catheter days per year.

Their success is attributed to their continuous monitoring of patient care processes, communication, and teamwork.
