Sleep & Your Health 😴

During winter months, shorter days, colder temperatures, and disrupted routines can quietly take a toll on sleep. Poor sleep isn’t just about feeling tired—it can have real impacts on your health, especially during flu season.
Ongoing sleep deprivation affects nearly every system in the body. It’s linked to increased anxiety and depression, trouble focusing, and a weakened immune system. Over time, poor sleep can also raise the risk of heart disease, metabolic issues, and ongoing mental health challenges.
Sleep plays a critical role in immune health. During deep sleep, your body produces proteins that help fight infection and regulate inflammation. When sleep is irregular or cut short, fewer immune cells are made, recovery takes longer, and you may be more vulnerable to illnesses like the flu.
Prioritizing good sleep hygiene can help protect your immune system, boost resilience, and support better energy, focus, and overall well-being.
