Livingston HealthCare continues to make steady progress in restoring network systems and systems are being successfully and safely brought back online as restoration efforts move forward.

We are pleased to share that the patient portal is fully functional, and patients may use their accounts to message their providers as usual. Although systems have been restored, there may be brief delays as we work through accumulated tasks. If you require more timely response, please call the hospital directly at 406.222.3541. Our phone system remains fully operational.

All patient services remain ongoing. The Emergency Department and UrgentCare are open and continuing to provide care to our community.

We remain committed to protecting patient information and ensuring all systems are restored securely. Thank you for your patience, support, and continued trust as we complete this work.

You don’t need a total lifestyle overhaul to support your heart—simple habits add up.

A daily walk, choosing water, managing stress, or scheduling a checkup are all meaningful steps toward better heart health.

Regular walking can help:
• Maintain a healthy weight
• Lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and high blood pressure
• Improve cardiovascular fitness and endurance
• Boost mood, energy, sleep, and focus
• Reduce stress and strengthen immunity

The faster and more often you walk, the greater the benefits—but every step counts. Even mixing brisk walking with a relaxed pace can make a difference for your heart.

Women & Heart Health: Know the Differences ❤️

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in Montana—but it doesn’t look the same for everyone. Women often experience heart disease later in life and with symptoms that are easier to miss or dismiss, leading to delayed care and higher risk.

While men are more likely to have “classic” heart attack symptoms like chest pain and arm discomfort, women may experience more subtle signs such as unexplained fatigue, nausea, sleep disturbances, indigestion, or pain between the shoulder blades. These symptoms are often mistaken for stress, aging, or digestive issues—especially when women are busy caring for others and putting their own health last.

Biology also plays a role. Women tend to have smaller arteries and different plaque patterns, which can make heart disease harder to detect with standard tests. Combined with unique risk factors like pregnancy complications, autoimmune conditions, and hormonal changes after menopause, women face a different—and often overlooked—heart health journey.

Knowing the signs, listening to your body, and prioritizing preventive care can save lives. This Heart Health Month, we encourage women to talk with their providers, schedule regular screenings, and take their symptoms seriously—because heart health looks different for women, and awareness matters.

What Is Cardiac Rehab? 🫀
By Adam Lugger, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Supervisor, Livingston HealthCare

Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically supervised program designed to help people recover after a heart-related event or procedure and build long-term heart health. It combines monitored exercise, education, and lifestyle support to help patients regain strength, reduce symptoms, and lower their risk of future heart problems. Cardiac rehab is for people who have experienced a heart attack, heart surgery, heart failure, coronary artery disease, or procedures like stents, bypass surgery, or valve repair.

Each cardiac rehab journey starts with a comprehensive intake visit where we review your medical history, medications, and personal goals. From there, we create an individualized plan based on how your heart responds to activity. Ongoing sessions include supervised exercise, strength and flexibility training, and education about heart-healthy habits, symptom awareness, and risk reduction—all in a safe, supportive environment.

By improving strength, endurance, and understanding of your heart health, cardiac rehab helps you feel more confident returning to daily activities and the things you enjoy most. It’s not just about recovery—it’s about moving forward with confidence, knowledge, and support.
