We honor the unique needs of women’s health care. We specialize in prenatal and childbirth services, while also providing the entire spectrum of well-woman gynecological care in a warm and welcoming setting. With a focus on wellness education, our midwives are committed to enhancing a woman’s self-reliance and trust in her normal life process. We share on-call shifts and care for our patients as a

team. We practice comprehensive, evidence-based health care. Nurse-midwives are registered nurses who have graduated from a nurse-midwifery program accredited by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM) and have passed a national certification examination to receive the professional designation of a certified nurse-midwife. Our sensitive and professional approach to gynecologic primary care includes annual assessments, evaluations and consultative services with specialists as needed. Our practice, following the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) guidelines, supports vaccination for all women who are pregnant, lactating or trying to conceive. CenteringPregnancy® is prenatal care that includes your regular health check-up with additional time for learning and sharing. Group appointments start after the first trimester. You’ll meet with your healthcare provider and other women who have similar due dates for 10 appointments throughout your pregnancy. Centering Pregnancy is a way for you to learn and experience your pregnancy with other pregnant women. Each appointment includes interactive learning that will let you experience your pregnancy in a new and rewarding way. Benefits of CenteringPregnancy: More time with your provider, shared learning and peer support, sense of community, connecting with lactation consultants, pelvic floor and pediatricians.

During pregnancy, the stomach has less room to expand and the sphincter at the top of the stomach is relaxed by pregnancy hormones allowing stomach acid to make its way into the esophagus. Indigestion, acid reflux, or heartburn – whatever you call it – is an annoying and painful part of pregnancy. Tums, ginger, and papaya extract may help ease the symptoms of heartburn. Swipe for more tips to help avoid heartburn altogether.

If you’re not able to get relief from your heartburn on your own, make an appointment with your midwife. They can help find the right treatment for you. ihacares.com/nursemidwives

04/03/2023

Patients with Michigan Medicaid and/or MichiganMIChild coverage must renew this month. The state is restarting eligibility reviews that were temporarily stopped during the pandemic. This means patients could lose their Medicaid health coverage. If you have questions about Medicaid renewal or information received from the state, visit Michigan.gov/MIBridges or call 888-367-6557.

Here's what you should do next:
1. Make sure Michigan Medicaid and Michigan MIChild has your current contact information.
2. Check your mail. The state Medicaid agency will mail a letter about the status of your Medicaid coverage. This letter will tell whether or not you need to reapply for coverage.
3. If you receive a renewal form, complete and return it right away.
4. If you lose or are denied coverage, you may apply for affordable coverage at Healthcare.gov within 60 days of losing coverage.
