Many parents tell me :
"My child was late diagnosed…”
“Maybe my child has undiagnosed ADHD…”

But here’s the truth:A diagnosis is not treatment.

ADHD is often described as a genetic or neurodevelopmental disorder. And yes—biology matters.

But stopping there can be limiting.

Because behavior is not random.Behavior is communication.

What we call “symptoms” are often expressions of a child’s inner world:• restlessness may be anxiety• inattention may be overwhelm• impulsivity may be unmet emotional needs

When we only focus on the label,we risk missing the message.

Children don’t just “have ADHD.”They are trying to make sense of their experience—and they need help doing it.

The real question is not:“What diagnosis does my child have?”

But:“What is my child trying to tell me?”

That’s where real change begins. 🌱

Understanding the emotional and physical changes or peri- and postnatal period.
About this event
The perinatal and postnatal period is a time of profound psychological and emotional change. This class offers guidance and support for expectant and new mothers as they navigate this unique developmental phase — a period that reshapes how a woman relates to herself, her partner, and the world around her.
Topics include understanding perinatal anxiety and ambivalence, exploring pregnancy as a stage of growth and reorganization, and acknowledging the experiences of loss and transformation as the body and identity shift. We also discuss the father’s essential role in supporting the mother’s emotional balance, the infant’s early developmental needs, and the concepts of the good enough and containing mother.
The goal is to help mothers foster their baby’s emotional development and emerging sense of self from the very beginning. Learning to enjoy pregnancy, tolerate intense emotions, and adapt to the many changes that come with early parenthood lays the foundation for secure attachment and healthy family relationships.

Anger is often a secondary feeling, covering deeper, more vulnerable emotions underneath.💛

For children, anger may be protecting feelings like sadness, fear, frustration, loneliness, disappointment, embarrassment, or overwhelm. When we slow down and get curious about what is beneath the anger, we help children feel seen rather than corrected.

Teaching kids to name these underlying emotions builds emotional awareness, supports regulation, and strengthens connection with their caregivers.

We’re looking forward to leading our upcoming Parent–Child Wellness Workshop on Screen Time and Digital Balance at Early Connections Institute in Brighton.

Children today are growing up in a digital world their developing brains were never designed for. Changes in mood, sleep, attention, and behavior often reflect overwhelm from constant stimulation rather than “bad habits” or defiance. Screens can shape emotional development in powerful ways, especially when algorithms begin choosing what children see before they fully understand how it works.

In this workshop, we’ll explore how modern screen use impacts the developing brain, why the algorithm has such a strong pull-on child, and why free play and outdoor time remain essential for emotional and cognitive growth! Through hands-on learning, parents and children will gain simple tools to build healthier screen habits with connection rather than conflict.
