It’s Rare Disease Day. Did you know that to be considered rare, less than 200,000 people must be diagnosed, and that it’s estimated that 1 in 10 have some form of rare disease. 90% of these diseases are without FDA approved treatment. 90%!!! Many of my kiddos at Shooting Star fall into this. Today, we support and bring awareness to Rare Disease Day. These families will always have me in their corner!! ❤️🦓❤️🦓❤️

This SuperStar earned his spot on our wall and in our hearts forever!! He and his amazing family worked so hard to overcome some pretty big fears around eating after a nasty illness. He started being afraid to swallow and would hold foods and refusing foods he previously loved. We worked together to build in just right challenges to build in trust and confidence again and he is now accepting all foods and has learned he does love eating again! Way to go!!! ❤️

This little cutie and her superstar team earned a star on our wall (right next to her big sis’s)!! She came in with some bottle feeding concerns and was frustrated when eating, and we worked together to determine she had some oral restrictions. She had releases done and is now eating and growing like a champ!! She will keep working on some body work with a PT, but is doing amazing with eating!! Way to go!!

Today is national wear red day to support and bring awareness to heart health and congenital heart defects!! Today i wear red, in support of the many in the shooting Star community, and for myself!! I have a congenital heart defect that required open heart surgery at 19. Sharing the love today, for all of those impacted by CHD, kiddos, siblings, parents, and adults with CHD too.

LAST CALL FOR TICKETS!!! I am so grateful and so excited for next Saturday and our first (but definitely not last) Shooting Star event! This event is a fundraising event for Project Giveback and my mission trip to provide feeding therapy to the children of the Philippines!! Today, more than ever, i feel called to give back to this world and do what i can to make it a better place for our children. (Click through to read my “why” statement.) 3 weeks from tomorrow!! We will submit lanes to the bowling alley in 2 weeks. Please purchase tickets with your family name and number of bowlers/observes so we can account for everyone. This little cutie earned her star on our walk today!! We are so proud of her and her family. She came in with big feelings about any new foods, especially protein and veggies that made mealtime really hard for the family. She is now confident and knows she has the skills to try anything at home, and has found new foods she loves in the process. Way to go girlie!!!! ❤️❤️
