Exciting announcement! Sycamore Counseling Services will begin offering EMDR Intensives at both our Troy and Trenton locations beginning in 2025!

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Intensives offer a powerful, efficient way to address deeply rooted issues over the course of a half-day or full-day session. This approach allows you to make meaningful progress in a shorter time frame, supported by experienced EMDR therapists who specialize in trauma-focused therapy.

No matter your age, shape, color, strength, or size, your body is seriously amazing. Start the week by paying attention to what it needs and giving it some love. Thank your body for all that it does for you every single day. Stretch, relax, and move your muscles. Self-care doesn't have to be long or complicated; little efforts go a long way.

The past can have a way of sneaking back up on us and taking up a lot of real estate in our minds. One technique that can help if your brain keeps replaying events of the past is to have a brief 1-2 sentence grounding statement that you can mindfully focus on that is true and present-focused. "I cannot change the past. I can figure out how to navigate today"

Hey Metro neighbors! I have a great tip if you are looking for a fun activity to do. You will NOT be disappointed partaking in I got to meet this sweet boy, Brinko, today and spend a few hours with him at Belle Isle.

Yesterday, truth be told, I was feeling a bit blah and so I decided to do something good for my today. This checked ALL the boxes. Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control offer this program 7 days a week, from 10:30-3:30. Just stop by with your driver's license and for yourself and a dog in need. I have a feeling it will help you both tremendously. And if anyone is looking to adopt a really good boy, Brinko is available and is a happy, gentle, wiggly butt little guy that would sure love a home.
