Many pet owners assume that cold weather keeps pests away, but fleas and ticks can still be active indoors and in milder climates. Warm homes and protected outdoor areas provide the perfect environment for these pests to survive and continue their life cycle - even in the middle of winter!

🐶 Why it matters:
Fleas can cause itchy skin, allergic reactions, and even transmit tapeworms.
Ticks can carry serious diseases like Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, and anaplasmosis, which can affect both pets and people.

Vet Tips for Winter Pest Prevention:
-Use year-round flea and tick prevention recommended by your veterinarian.
-Check your pets regularly for signs of fleas or ticks, especially after walks.
-Vacuum and wash bedding frequently to remove eggs and larvae.

🩵Not only do we place AirTags on our client pets (yes, kitties too! 🐱), but our home is fully secured with over 10 cameras covering all exits, yards, park area, boarding, grooming, and treatment spaces.

💚We also have self-shutting gates, secure vestibules, and a 6-foot enclosed fence to ensure multiple layers of protection at all times.

🧡Rest easy knowing that when your baby is here, they are safe, secure, and cared for like family. We’re always happy to share AirTag locations with owners. Some even love checking in and following their pet’s Elite adventures! ✨🐾

🩵Elite Animal Care is fully booked and feeling cozy 🤗🐾 Even with mandatory indoor days like we’ve had lately, all the pups are still enjoying enrichment, comfort, and quality time together. A true home away from home. Elite style 🩵✨

💗Here, your pup gets to sleep under the covers, plop on the couch, happily leave paw prints on the floors, create nose art on the windows, and de-fluff all the toys possible. Because here at Elite, your pup becomes a part of our pack 🐾

💠 We’ll be enjoying plenty of indoor playtime over the next few days to keep everyone warm and comfortable.
💠 All pets go outside only for short, safe potty breaks.
💠 Half of our dog yard is shoveled to significantly reduce ice buildup and slipping hazards.
💠 In addition to a warm, cozy home environment, we also provide outdoor heaters when needed.
💠 Safety is always Elite Animal Care’s number one priority.
