Internal Medicine is the discipline encompassing the study and practice of health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, care, and treatment of men and women from adolescence to old age, during health and all stages of illness. Intrinsic to the discipline are scientific knowledge, the scientific method of problem solving, evidence-based decision making, a commitment to lifelong learning, and an

attitude of caring that is derived from humanistic and professional values. Mary Mercy is a 304-bed community hospital that has strong ties to its community in beautiful southeast Michigan. This allows us access to the academic and subspecialty clinical resources of a large tertiary care center, while allowing us to practice in a primary-care-based environment. We are affiliated with three local medical schools: Wayne State University, the University of Toledo, and Michigan State University.
