Of the hundreds of cows roaming our beautiful 200 acres, there is one in particular that stole our hearts. If you’re not yet familiar with him, allow us to formally introduce you to Walter: the cow, the myth, the legend. 🐮 🐄

Walter loves going rogue from the herd, preferring the company of staff and clients down by the main house. He stares into our therapists’ windows during sessions, fearlessly approaches vehicles for snacks, and poses for selfies with employees. 😍

Walter is the inspiration for our famous “Squishy Walter” cow-shaped stress balls, and has spawned an entire social media craze, thanks to our BD team Jenifer Oxford Travis Duane Paul Bigley

It’s just one of the many things that make The Plum so special! We can only hope our beloved cow doesn’t leave AMA. 😂

Breaking news from The Plum!!! 🐮 We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Joanne Ketch, LPC-S, LMFT-S, LCDC will be joining the Plum Creek Recovery Ranch team as our new Clinical Director. ⭐️

Dr. Ketch brings 15 years of clinical leadership and over 30 years of personal recovery to her new role. Her 10 Foundational Principles, which emerged from her doctoral research, will anchor Plum Creek’s evolving clinical program - ensuring that every client receives compassionate, evidence-based care grounded in authenticity, purpose, and long-term resiliency.

By aligning clinical excellence with a clear and compelling value proposition - science-backed care, whole-family engagement, and personalized treatment - Dr. Ketch’s curriculum will guide our unique program towards growth, innovation, and thought leadership.

The entire Plum Creek Recovery Ranch family is thrilled to welcome our newest member of the Business Development team, Travis Duane! ✨⭐️

Travis will proudly represent the North Texas market and brings immense passion, servitude, and determination into this new role. His journey into the behavioral health space began with his own remarkable transformation in recovery. As someone with a genuine love for helping others, Travis sought to provide support and recovery resources for underserved populations within his community. With this in mind, he founded two sober living homes aimed at providing safe, affordable environments for both women and Veterans of the Armed Forces.

In just a short time, he fostered strong partnerships within recovery communities across Texas and became well-known for his positivity and generosity. Naturally, we jumped at the chance to bring him onboard!
