Ever feel like your body is constantly yelling at you to slow down — and you just keep ignoring it?
This year, my body has been my toughest teacher. Some days it’s a whisper. Some days it’s a full-blown wall of fatigue, pain, or tension that I can’t push through. I’ve learned the hard way that ignoring it only costs me more — more exhaustion, more overwhelm, more heartbreak over what my body can’t do that day.
Living with chronic pain or trauma isn’t about weakness. It’s about learning to listen, to honor limits, and to regulate a nervous system that doesn’t always cooperate. Somatic movement, gentle yoga, breathwork, journaling, and even physical therapy or myofascial release have become my tools for reconnecting with myself — for reclaiming safety in a body that sometimes feels unsafe.
It’s not easy. Some days I override. But each moment I choose to pause and listen, I learn something new about what it means to truly care for myself.
