📣📣 We need to publicly acknowledge a couple BIG milestones we had in 2025 at East Avenue Vision Center ‼️🎉🥳

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Kim celebrated her 2️⃣5️⃣th year at the office! She worked for Dr. DeLange for 19 years and continued on with Dr. Shaw for the past 6 1/2 years! We are so lucky to have Kim provide her wealth of knowledge from so many years of experience. Our patients love walking into the office and seeing the same friendly face greeting them. She wears many hats in our office, including our office manager. Thanks for all that you do, Kim! And cheers to many more!

🌟 Kristal also celebrated a big milestone with 5️⃣ years at our office!! Kristal is our lead optometric technician who preps the patients before seeing the doctors. She also wears many hats in our office and we are thankful for everything that she does! Cheers to many more years!!

Congrats to two of our amazing team members! 🎉🎉

(And Go Bills! ❤️💙)

Here are some thoughtful New Year’s resolutions for better eye care to help protect and improve your vision all year long:

👀 Daily Habits
1. Follow the 20-20-20 rule — Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
2. Take screen breaks — Reduce eye strain by stepping away from digital devices regularly.
3. Blink more often — It sounds simple, but many of us forget! Blinking keeps eyes moist and healthy.
4. Keep hands and lenses clean — Wash hands before touching your eyes or handling contacts.

🥦 Nutrition & Hydration
5. Eat eye-healthy foods — Include leafy greens, citrus, carrots, eggs, and salmon in your diet.
6. Stay hydrated — Drinking enough water helps prevent dry eyes.
7. Limit processed foods and sugar — These can contribute to inflammation that affects eye health.

🕶️ Protection
8. Wear sunglasses — Choose 100% UV-protection shades whenever you’re outdoors.
9. Use safety glasses — Protect your eyes when doing yard work, home projects, or sports.
10. Adjust lighting — Reduce glare and avoid harsh lighting when reading or using digital devices.

🩺 Checkups & Awareness
11. Schedule an annual eye exam — Even if your vision seems fine, routine exams catch problems early.
12. Know your family eye health history — Many eye conditions are hereditary.
13. Monitor changes — Don’t ignore symptoms like blurred vision, pain, or flashes of light.

🌙 Lifestyle & Rest
14. Get enough sleep — Rested eyes are less dry and irritated.
15. Manage stress — Relaxation and gentle eye exercises can prevent strain and fatigue.
