Dr. Sarah Shaw is the owner/optometrist at East Avenue Vision Center, formerly the practice of Dr. Paul DeLange.

Dr. Shaw is a Lockport native and is thrilled to provide medically-focused optometry with a vision therapy specialty to her hometown. Happy First Day of School to most of the districts in our area!

Looking for the best way to support your child this school year?! Make sure they’ve had a comprehensive eye exam by an optometrist.

We are also excited to welcome our new optician, Jon, to the team!

You’ll be met with 85 years of experience in our optical today.

Do you have Lash Extensions⁉️ This is the post for you‼️

Us eye doctors aren’t big fans of lash extensions because of the harsh chemicals that can damage the lashes and cause inflammation of the eyelids. They create an optimal environment for nasty bacteria and buildup to occur.

BUT… if you are going to have them, these are the products you need to be using:
✨ Zocular Zocufoam is a lid cleanser safe for lash extensions that won’t break down the glue - use 1-2 times per day.
✨ Eyelid cleansing spray by Optase or Lid Hygiene Spray by Bruder - should be sprayed at the eyes/eyelashes 2 times per day

Follow these tips to prevent infections from lash extensions and keep your eyes happy and healthy. You should also be sure to have an annual eye exam to ensure there is no buildup and inflammation.

If you are not in the habit of removing your makeup nightly or you are experiencing irritation post-makeup removal, this is the solution for you!

Many makeup removers have nasty chemicals that cause inflammation in and around the eye. This is a safe product we recommend!

✨ Remove makeup nightly
✨ Discard eye makeup every 3 months
✨ Do not share eye makeup
✨ Do not apply makeup to waterline - apply eyeliner above eyelash line on upper lid and below lash line on lower lid in order to avoid clogging the glands that line the eyelids which are important to tear production!

When your mom finds your old glasses in your childhood home, that you had made at East Avenue Vision Center in the 90s, you have to try them on! (with a Walter cameo)

Dr. Shaw had LASIK in her mid-twenties so this old prescription is NOT good 😂🥴😵‍💫
They’ll go in our Lions Club donation box in the morning!

Do you have old glasses lying around?! Bring them in and put them in the donation box to help people in need.
