I live with ankylosing spondylitis, an autoimmune condition that has taught me firsthand how much the body holds. For years I thought my pain was just physical — but I’ve learned that so much of it is connected to emotions and traumas stored in the body.

When the nervous system gets stuck in survival mode, it never feels safe enough to truly pause and heal. That constant state of “fight or flight” can feed inflammation, pain, and autoimmune flares. I’ve lived it — the exhaustion, the frustration, the feeling like my body was working against me.

But I’ve also experienced the other side: when you begin to gently release what’s been stored, when your nervous system finally feels safe, the body softens. Healing becomes possible again.

This is why I am so passionate about Spinal Flow. It’s not just a technique — it’s a pathway back to safety, regulation, and the possibility of living with more ease.

Sometimes both kids and adults need a place to reset when things feel overwhelming. One simple, powerful tool is setting up a safe corner in your home — a little spot where the nervous system can breathe and come back to balance.

💡 You don’t need to spend much! Here are some easy, inexpensive ideas to include:
🤍A soft blanket or pillow to curl up with
🤍A basket of sensory toys (stress ball, squishy toy, fidget spinner, pipe cleaners)
🤍Coloring pages, crayons, or Play-Doh
🤍A calming jar (water + glitter in a sealed bottle)
🤍Headphones with gentle music or nature sounds
🤍A “feelings chart” to help name emotions
🤍A favorite book or stuffed animal for comfort

🌿 Why it helps:
Having a safe space allows the nervous system to shift from fight-or-flight into rest and regulation. When your child resets, you can too — and when you use it together, it teaches them healthy coping tools for life.

I know what it’s like to live in pain—my own journey with an inflammatory autoimmune condition has taught me just how much it impacts every part of life. For years, I thought I just had to push through… until I found a different way.

Today’s Regulation Tool: Shake + Dance Break
Put on a favorite upbeat song (even just 1–2 minutes!)

Shake out your arms, legs, and shoulders
Add in a few silly dance moves—wiggle, spin, stomp, or sway

Take a deep breath together to finish!
