As spring unfolds around us, we are reminded that even in life’s most tender moments, hope continues to grow.
🌷
In hospice care, hope may look different - it can be found in comfort, in connection, in dignity, and in the quiet beauty of each day shared. Like flowers reaching toward the light, these moments bring warmth, meaning, and peace to patients and their loved ones.
🌷
At Niagara Hospice, we honor the gentle ways hope blooms - through compassion, presence, and the care we are privileged to provide.

💙
The Mighty Niagara Discount Card is available to local schools and youth groups as a fun and effective fundraising tool. Dozens of area businesses participate, offering special discounts to cardholders.
💙
For every card sold, $10 is donated to Niagara Hospice and $10 goes directly to the school or youth group selling the cards. It’s a "win-win-win", supporting Niagara Hospice, benefiting local students and youth programs, and bringing customers to our community business partners!

We are often humbled by the kind words patients and families share about their experience with Niagara Hospice. These heartfelt messages mean so much to our care team - and they also help others better understand what hospice care truly offers during a difficult time.
💗 We are deeply grateful for the trust our community places in us and are honored each time someone shares their Niagara Hospice story. By sharing your experience, you can offer comfort, insight, and reassurance to others who may be facing similar journeys.
Volunteer Appreciation Month is in full swing, and our Volunteer Department hosted a wonderful Craft Day yesterday, resulting in some truly beautiful creations!
Our volunteers painted ceramic boots that can be used in so many ways - from displaying small flowers, to holding pencils or pens, to simply adding a touch of charm to any space. It was such a fun and creative time, and we are so grateful for our incredible volunteers!

Niagara Hospice, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving all of Niagara County, began its grassroots movement in 1980 when the Reverend Robert Cook of the Town of Tonawanda gathered a group of concerned citizens, including co-founder and current Niagara Hospice board member Patricia Evans, to discuss the feasibility of developing a hospice program for Niagara County.
As a result of that first meeting, the first board of directors was formed in 1984 and the organization became incorporated as an Educational Association.
In 1986, a Certificate of Need was presented to the New York State Department of Health by the board president Patricia Evans and in June 1988, Niagara Hospice, Inc. was licensed to serve its first home care patients.
Since then, Niagara Hospice has been privileged to serve more than 25,000 Niagara County residents and their families. Thanks to a dedicated and hard-working staff, volunteer corps and partners in care, Niagara Hospice has evolved to meet the increasing needs of the seriously ill and their families.
Niagara Hospice is the only hospice in Western New York accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).
What is Hospice?
Hospice is a way of caring for patients with end-of-life illnesses and supporting their family and loved ones through the illness and dying process. At Niagara Hospice, we believe every day is a gift and we value quality of life for each and every patient. As the only hospice provider in Niagara County, our staff and volunteers take pride in their compassionate service to others. Just one call to Niagara Hospice provides loved ones the physical, emotional, psychosocial, spiritual and bereavement care they need.
Hospice care is appropriate for people with any advanced stage illness, not just cancer, where the prognosis is a life expectancy of approximately six months or less - if the illness were to run its normal course. Some patients receive hospice care beyond six months. In fact, studies show that people with end-of-life illnesses who choose hospice care often live longer than patients who do not elect hospice services.*
Hospice is specialized care for the terminally ill. We also provide support services for family members and other caregivers of individuals faced with end of life challenges. Niagara Hospice has proudly served Niagara County residents since 1988.

Niagara Hospice's dedication to providing the highest level of care is recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).The ACHC has awarded Niagara Hospice with its accreditation for hospice care for demonstrating a commitment to providing quality care and services to consumers through
compliance with ACHC's nationally recognized standards for accreditation.
Niagara Hospice is a not-for-profit charitable 501(c)(3) organization recognized by both New York State and the Internal Revenue Service.
Hope and Hospice
Hospice gives hope for comfort when a cure is no longer feasible; hope that a secure, familiar care setting can be enjoyed; hope for personal dignity and freedom from unwanted procedures. Additionally, Hospice gives hope that the family will be nurtured and supported, even after the death of their loved one. Many of our families have told us that choosing Hospice allowed them more time to be together.
Every family's situation is unique. You do not have to face this illness alone - we are only a phone call away. When medical science can't add more days to life, Hospice adds more life to every day.
Let our family help yours!
