Many people have been asking me how I have gotten to where I am as a clinician. It’s been quite the journey reflecting back and there are many many parts in between and truly began in childhood(more on that at some point) but here goes…!
I started practicing as a Physical Therapist in 2004 in outpatient Orthopedics. Shortly after, I began exploring pilates for my own body and mind and got certified by the Kane school in NYC in 2007. There was so much overlap in what I was teaching my patients at the time, that I brought the principles and foundations of Pilates into my patients treatment plans seamlessly. From there, on my journey of increased life stresses and relationship losses, I knew I finally needed to explore the practices of yoga that I was resisting. In 2008, I began taking a yoga class a week and have never looked back. I deepened my practice so much over those years. I brought the breath techniques to all of my patients especially those dealing with chronic pain. I finally found such a deep missing piece that PT school missed!
I immediately saw how healing and transformative they were for them, that I officially got certified to teach Yoga in 2013. I found such a deep passion in combining all that I learned as a physical therapist with all that I experienced as a yoga practitioner and teacher. All I wanted to do, was to be able to help endless amounts of people and began to develop Breathe Eden Physical Therapy, Yoga and Health Coaching.
My deep awareness of whole body transformation from the inside out drew me to IIN(Institute of Integrative Nutrition) in 2015.
I have also taken many other courses and certifications over the years including Meditation, Physiyoga and Prenatal certifications/courses.

So many people and clients ask me what books have stood out in my journey of self discovery and how they have shaped my personal and professional life…

At 30 years old, when I began practicing yoga and doing the “inner work”, I was a sponge. I read a book a week. An endless amount of books helped me to reconnect with my true self, understand myself and the world around us, helped to heal childhood trauma and dig deep into relationships and pain…and then manifest the life I currently have and share these tools, practices and way of life with all of my clients 🙏🏻✨🤩

These are just a few of the enormous amount of books that have guided me ❤️❤️❤️

Take that break, that pause, that breath! You know you need it! 🧘🏻‍♀️😮‍💨

When we pause and stop to rest and breathe, you actually gain MORE energy. 💪🏻
Running without rest will just burn you out and leave your nervous system on overdrive(in a sympathetic state). Our systems cannot function in a constant sympathetic state 🥵. (Perhaps why your pain will not go away)!!

🤩Take that pause, take that break… your body and mind will thank you !! ✨🙏🏻

✨Where are you holding back? Why can’t you slow down? Why can’t you do for you? Where and why was that story created?

I have so much to say about grounding…

What it does for our nervous system….

✨ calms the nervous system by shifting the autonomic nervous system from a sympathetic (fight-or-flight) state to a parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) state. ✨reduce stress
✨improved sleep
✨better emotional regulation
✨reduce inflammation
✨reduce pain

Start with 5-10 minutes a day. Take off your shoes, feel your feet on the ground.. or body… see how you feel 🙏🏻

Suboccipital release on a block is a great way for our head and neck to feel supported so tension and gripping can begin to let go 🙏🏻

✨back of head is supported on top, flat part of block
✨ridge of block rests on suboccpital region(not the neck/spine)
✨roll head to one side, end range- hold and take some expansive breaths
✨move head to various areas of “tenderness” to hold and release
✨spend some time here, no rush
✨allow your body to release and let go, feel your pain dissipate
