💗 A personal note from our hearts at Inner Balance Medicine 💗

One thing many people may not know about me is that both my mom and my stepmom lost their lives to cancer.

My mom passed from breast cancer at just 52 years old.
My stepmom passed from pancreatic cancer at 58 years old.

These losses shaped not only who I am—but why I do this work.

As healthcare practitioners, our goal is always to support our patients with proactive, compassionate, and integrative options for their health. That’s why we are honored to be teaming up with Breast Cancer Ultrasound Screening to offer an early, radiation-free alternative for breast cancer screening.

Early detection saves lives. Period.

New accessible room ✨

At Inner Balance Medicine, we are committed to patient comfort, inclusivity, and accessibility.

After years of shuffling the furniture around in our standard rooms, we have opened a table-free room for patients who receive treatments in chairs, wheelchairs, or other needs.

If you need accommodations to make your visit safe & comfortable, please let us know how we can support you 💖

We will be moving soon. We are thrilled how this room came together, and our new clinic’s accessibility room will be even more comfortable and adaptable.

Passionate about addressing the needs of patients with complex health concerns, Dr. Amanda Gaitaud is inspired by her own experiences with autoimmune disease and chronic migraine.

Her therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the power of deeply listening to her patients, hearing their stories, and understanding the full context of their symptoms.

This approach allows her to help patients gain insight into their health and well-being while creating personalized plans for restoring their wellness.

Amanda holds a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Eastern Medicine, specializing in orthopedics and pain management, from Pacific College of Health & Science, as well as an advanced practice Doctorate in Acupuncture and Integrative Medicine from Yo San University. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the American Board of TCM Reproductive Medicine.

With extensive training in integrative medicine — San Diego Hospice and Institute for Palliative Medicine, Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego Cancer Center, UCSD Free Clinic, and Chengdu Regional TCM Hospital in China — Amanda combines her knowledge and personal experience to provide holistic care.

Since 2010, she has been a licensed and board-certified acupuncturist, herbalist, and integrative Eastern medicine clinician, dedicated to empowering others on their healing journeys.

As we move through life, everything within us and all around us is constantly in a state of flux.

We must grow with life and evolve with these changes in order to thrive.

Our clinic is also constantly adapting to the shifting patterns in our patients and community, integrating new knowledge and experience into our clinical practice, and the evolving demands of our personal lives.

We operate a rather complex clinic as we work with so many patients with all kinds of health concerns and our behind the scenes organization has evolved into a complex case management system.

We felt the strain of a complicated appointment system bogging us down and we realized how unnecessarily over complicated it had become, especially with our internal systems handling all the important details for our patients.

Now Connie & Amanda’s appointments are available under “Integrative Wellness.” For follow ups / existing patients, choose either a standard 45 minute classic *acupuncture*, or choose an extended 75 minute *acupuncture plus* with modalities or deeper discussion/consult time.

Robert’s orthopedic pain management program is separated for easy navigation.

Holistic bodywork now contains the appointments for our massage therapist Marissa and myofascial therapist Cara.

At Inner Balance Medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is the core of our approach.

TCM has always been an *integrative* medicine, since its very beginnings thousands of years ago in China.

Acupuncture is one therapy within the TCM medical system, a therapy that elicits physiological change in the body utilizing innate self-regulating mechanisms.

“Whole system” TCM also includes other therapies, and depending on the nature of the patient’s condition, treatment would often include a combination of therapies.

TCM incorporated therapeutic nutrition, exercise therapy and stretching, bodywork, gua sha and cupping, bone-setting (chiropractic-like techniques), herbal medicine (as its pharmacology), surgery, lifestyle medicine such as stress management, sleep hygiene, seasonal harmony, and work/rest balance.

When we work with patients to improve their health and well being, we consider all the factors affecting a patient, as well as the tools and therapies that could benefit the patient.

Our treatments typically include way more than the acupuncture needles.

We often collaborate with other providers who offer therapies that we cannot provide ourselves such as physical therapy, counselors, chiropractic, or pharmaceuticals.

Our goal is to empower the patient to understand all of the tools that are available to help them so they can make informed decisions about how to manage their health and wellness.

We are proud to serve our community in the spirit of integrative medicine, rooted in thousands of years of patient-centered wisdom.

We have taken care of our families, communities, and commitments.
