One month ago today, they brought me back from the dead.
No warning.
No symptoms.
My heart just… stopped.
There’s no poetic way to put that.
And it still feels unreal.
I won’t share every detail here.
Some moments are too sacred to flatten into a post.
What I keep coming back to though, are the things that had happened before - some long before Janury 8th - that changed the outcome of my story.
Years of service in Scouting meant Jason knew exactly what to do when every second mattered.
An unexpected emergency at Joshua’s business meant his wife, who “just hapoens to be an EMT,” was in the car with us that morning.
A VERY early drop off time at the airport for our missionary meant we missed commuter traffic.
First responders at a certain fire department lingered long after their shift had ended and were able to respond immediately.
A broken camera on my laptop before Christmas changed our route that day and placed us in a parking lot instead of on the interstate at exactly the right time.
I could go on… there was a myriad of things.
None of us knew at the time that CPR training, a work emergency, lingering at the station, a broken computer - were important. We didn’t realize those little, ordinary things would matter so much.
But God did.
After all, He is still a God of miracles. And sometimes the miracle is already in motion, quietly arranged long before we know we need saving.
And because He knows, I’m still here.
Humbled to have so many heroes.
Grateful to a Father in Heaven who is involved in the details of our lives.
Convinced more than ever that there are no coincidences.
