Meet our new Therapist!
Courtney is our newest therapist here at THRIVE. Courtney works with teens, adults, and LGBTQIA+ individuals and families. Courtney enjoys helping people find empowerment through learning to trust their inner strength and voice when facing oppressive situations or difficult relationships in their lives. Particular issues she has experience in is helping people with chronic illness, coping with disabilities, women’s issues, disordered eating, trauma, abuse, assault, infidelity, parenting, etc. She also really enjoys helping people face difficult life transitions, which could be in relationships, stages of life, faith and spirituality, coping with disease, death, etc. If you think Courtney would be a good fit for you, get scheduled today!
Below are some questions to help get to know Courtney a bit better
1. What inspired me to become a therapist: Helping my teenagers and their friends through difficult times. Learning to support clients, friends, and family through the complications of domestic violence and sexual abuse. Facing personal challenges have helped me develop a lifelong curiosity about human behavior and our power to overcome adversity.
2. Favorite Mantra: No Mud, No Lotus -Thich Nhat Hhan
3. Favorite way to spend my day off: Being outside; hiking, mountain biking, gardening, woodworking, restoration projects, and experimenting with new outdoor cooking recipes.
4. Favorite Book: “The Name of the Wind” by Patrick Rothfus, or Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen.
5. Favorite food would be fresh pastries or cookies, but as someone with Ulcerative Colitis I usually have to settle for alternatives. Life isn't fair, but sometimes I can eat the cookie and the consequences are still worth it!
6. If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be Ireland in the summer and Greece in the winter.
Courtney is accepting new clients!! If you or someone you know would like to schedule with Courtney, call or email today!
