Over 10 years ago I met Melanie in a chiropractor office where I was providing massages alongside adjustments. She was living with a progressive neurological condition, and walking even short distances was difficult, she steadied herself along the wall just to get into the treatment room.
Back then, I offered ten-minute session as part of her care routine. They were brief, but they became a steady thread of support. After the office closed, her husband reached out to me asking me if I could continue at home care for her. They had purchased a massage table. I said yes.
That simple “yes” began a new chapter.
Over the years, Melanie has made many powerful choices for her health. Massage, acupuncture, movement, nutrition, deep rest.
At the time her prognosis included full-time mobility support. She’s now walking managing her systems with care, and living a meditation free life. She’s uses a walking to help prevent falls, but she is still upright, still radiant, still strong.
The journey wasn’t about a miracle. It was about consistency, about listening, about holistic integrated care, and the belief that the body, giving the right tools can adapt in unexpected ways.
I am honored to have walked beside her all of these years.
If you’ve ever wondered whether massage can be a meaningful part of a long-term wellness care, this story is a quite yes. Not a promise, but a possibility.
