There are no stair steps and no steep ramps to encounter! You will find drive-up access to the front door under a covered portico with valet parking available, if needed. Our lounge and kitchenette provide a homelike setting where families can grab refreshments and relax with a tv and toys to keep the children busy.

Robert Irwin was just 2 years old when his father, “The Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, died tragically while handling a stingray.

Last night, on DWTS, he paid tribute to his mother, Terri, for the love and strength she has shown- for always being there for him and his sister - keeping his dad’s memory alive.

It wasn’t just for his mom, he said, but for anyone who’s lost someone special.

Grab the tissues and check out the dance with his Dancing With the Stars pro Whitney Carson.

Loretta Swigart lived a full century—100 years marked by faith, wisdom, and quiet acts of love. Valedictorian of the Metea High School Class of 1943, she saw the world transform in ways few can imagine. From party lines to smartphones, Loretta witnessed the evolution of the telephone—but she never lost sight of its true purpose: connection.

Her ministry was simple, yet profound. Loretta made phone calls to shut-ins who needed a cheerful voice, offering comfort, companionship, and God’s love one conversation at a time. In an age of texts and emojis, she reminded us that sometimes we need to put the phone down and talk—and other times, the phone is a lifeline to the lonely.

As we honor Loretta’s legacy, let her example challenge us: Who in your life needs a voice, not just a message? Reach out. Speak love. Be the connection someone’s waiting for.

Marilyn Spangler was the kind of woman whose quiet strength shaped generations. Widowed young, she poured her heart into being there for her children and grandchildren—loving them twice as much, once for her and once for the husband and father they lost too soon. She was what you might call an ordinary hero: a devoted school bus driver who greeted each child with a smile, and a faithful volunteer with the Awana Baptist youth ministry, planting seeds of kindness we may never fully see bloom.

As we remember Marilyn, we’re reminded of this simple truth: “You never know how far the ripples of your kindness will travel—only that the world is a kinder place because you were here.”

We invite you to share your memories, stories, and words of comfort on Marilyn’s Tribute Wall by clicking the link below.

Her legacy is woven into the lives she touched—through family, friendship, and fierce loyalty.

Mary Fisher grew up in the Onward Christian Church. Her Grandpa Granville Kesling owned a big popcorn farm just down the road a ways. He also had the largest herd of Percherin horses this side of Missippi. This noodle dinner, hands down, is one of the best around! Maybe it’s the recipe, maybe it’s the cooks, maybe it’s the friendly, familiar faces…but perhaps it’s all the memories and the legacy stirred in that makes this one of our family’s favorite dinners!

Come to Onward for chicken & noodles tonight! Drive back by way of Pipe Creek Falls…you’ll drive by the old Kesling homestead!

We often hear these sad words: “She always took the pictures…we have none of her.”

We often hear these sad words: “She always took the pictures…we have none of her.”

Dear families everywhere,
If Mama wants family pictures taken—do it.

Even if it’s not how you’d choose to spend your evening.

Even if you hate being in front of the camera.

Even if life feels too busy and everything else seems like a bigger priority.

Do it anyway.
Do it without excuses.
Without whining.
Without tears.
Without making her bribe, threaten, or beg.

She wants these photos because the kids are growing and changing faster than her heart can keep up with, and this feels like the closest she can get to freezing time.

Because she’s almost always the one behind the lens, but rarely in front of it. She wants proof she was there too. She longs for someone to capture the tender moments between her and her family the way she captures them for everyone else.

Because while her phone is already full of the everyday memories she treasures, sometimes it’s special to have everyone cleaned up, together, and beautifully photographed.

A mother gives endlessly without asking for much in return. So when she asks for family photos, take it as your chance to give her something that will mean more than you realize.

Let her be in the pictures with you—because it doesn’t happen nearly enough.

It might not mean much to you.
But it just might mean the world to her.
