My name is Tiana Smith, and I’m so glad you’re here. As we step into this new year, I’m excited to connect with new faces, share helpful insights, and continue my passion for supporting women, children, and families through education, advocacy, and speech-language development.
This page is a space for encouragement, learning, and practical strategies rooted in experience and heart. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, professional, or simply curious, I hope you find value, support, and inspiration here.
Thank you for being part of this journey — I’m looking forward to growing together this year!
I have always had a passion for helping women and children, which led me to earn a bachelor’s degree in child and Family Development from the University of Akron. Early in my career, I worked as a Service Coordinator serving children from birth to three years old, supporting families during critical stages of development.
While working in early intervention, I encountered a young child who was waiting to receive speech therapy services. During that time, I implemented creative strategies and techniques to support his communication development. By the time a speech-language pathologist was able to complete an evaluation, the child had made such significant progress that he no longer required services. That experience — and the encouragement of the evaluating SLP — inspired me to return to school to pursue a master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
Since then, I have never looked back. I earned my master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Akron and have worked as an advocate and service provider since 2006. My experience spans a variety of settings, including birth–3 programs, K–12 schools, nursing homes, and home health environments.
I specialize in treating language and articulation disorders in both children and adults and have experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury (TBI), cleft palate, dysphagia, and feeding difficulties. I am committed to providing compassionate, individualized, and evidence-based therapy that empowers individuals and families to thrive.
