Today is not just news… it’s personal.
The Center for Reproductive Rights has filed a lawsuit against the State of Georgia, challenging laws that restrict and criminalize midwifery care.
This lawsuit specifically challenges:
• Georgia’s criminalization of direct-entry midwives
• The requirement that certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) can only practice under a physician agreement
I have lived this.
I have felt what it’s like to have your calling questioned, your livelihood impacted, and your ability to serve families limited—not because of harm, but because of how laws are written and interpreted.
Midwifery is not the problem. Lack of access is.
Families deserve options. Mothers deserve autonomy. And providers deserve the ability to practice within the full scope of their training to save lives.
This moment gives me hope.
Not just for me—but for every midwife, every mother, and every baby in Georgia.
Change is coming. And I’m standing in it. 🤍
