In many of AHI’s hospitals across Africa, biomedical technicians keep lifesaving equipment running. Their work ensures patients receive safe, reliable care every day.

Over the last month, our techs completed key repairs and maintenance, including: fixing a hematology analyzer, removing a blockage from a suction machine, servicing a dialysis machine, repairing another suction unit, and performing preventive maintenance on an oxygen concentrator and AC units and much more.

Baraka Adventist Hospital (BAH) continues to provide essential care to both the local community and Sudanese refugees in Eastern Chad. Despite limited resources and challenging conditions, the team remains committed to serving with compassion.

The hospital recently distributed food and soap to refugees in Baraka and provided free surgeries and medications to those in need. BAH also delivered food supplies to nearly 480 households in the Abougoudam refugee camp.

At Hôpital Adventiste d’Haïti (HAH), the resilience of the staff and patients shines through every day. Even amid threats from gangs, limited resources, and ongoing instability, their gratitude and determination continue to inspire all who witness their courage. Every challenge becomes a testament to their strength and commitment to hope.

One of those stories is Watson’s. After traveling nearly 100 miles with a severe leg injury, he received care from HAH surgeons Drs. Fontulmé and Derifond, both trained at the hospital. Even after a long and difficult journey back for follow-up care, he arrived with gratitude, saying, “Mwen pap dekouraje non” — I will not be discouraged. With his determination, supported by the dedication of the HAH team, progress and healing become possible.

On November 5, Adventist Health International, in collaboration with the Global Health Institute at Loma Linda University Health and other partners, hosted its annual Virtual Leadership Summit, bringing together Adventist healthcare leaders from around the world. This year’s fully online event connected 400 attendees from 178 cities across 68 countries to explore global health topics, workforce challenges, medical education, and innovations in nursing, dentistry, research, and infrastructure.

The Summit featured a distinguished lineup of speakers, devotional reflections, and institutional updates, made possible through the generous support of AHI, Loma Linda University Health, and the General Conference Departments of Education and Health Ministries.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating a milestone full of hope, healing, and renewed lives. This November, Loma Linda University Health’s Global Heart Collaborative (GHC) completed its fifth heart camp at Blantyre Adventist Hospital in Malawi, part of a growing effort to increase access to advanced heart care where it is most needed. Fourteen open-heart surgeries and twelve pacemaker implants were performed last month, bringing hope and new possibilities to patients who had been waiting for treatment.

Scheer Memorial Adventist Hospital (SMAH) recently reached a remarkable milestone: 732 outpatient visits in a single day, a day that showcased the dedication and resilience of everyone at SMAH.

To celebrate this achievement and recognize the hard work of the entire team, SMAH shared warm hot chocolate and cookies, a small but heartfelt moment of connection and appreciation in the middle of a busy day.
