This past month, dental services at Malamulo Adventist Hospital in Malawi stayed busy with patients seeking care. From fillings and cleanings to extractions and exams. Even more encouraging, some are returning for continued treatment and preventive care, a meaningful step toward long-term oral health.

We are completely overwhelmed with gratitude and awe as we share an update on the Malamulo infrastructure project.

Because of an incredibly generous matching fund challenge and the outpouring of support that followed from all of you, over $500,000 was raised over the past few months toward this critical project.

What began as a hopeful goal quickly became something far bigger than we imagined.

Yesterday, we shared a short video that walks through the full scope of this project and what these funds make possible. We hope you’ll take a moment to watch, it captures both the vision and the deep thankfulness of the Malamulo team.

Across the hospital, staff are truly amazed by how much progress is now underway because of this one campaign. Reliable power is no longer just a future plan, it is actively becoming a reality. This momentum will directly impact patient safety, surgical care, training, and the sustainability of the hospital for years to come.

To everyone who gave, shared, prayed, encouraged, or helped spread the word…thank you. This was a collective effort, and the impact is already being felt here at Malamulo.

Scheer Memorial Adventist Hospital (SMAH) is continuing its investment in staff development through Transformative System Thinking Training, in partnership with the Right Path Research and Training Center.

The sessions invite employees to look beyond daily tasks and better understand how each role connects within the broader system of care, shaping collaboration and patient outcomes while creating space for reflection and practical growth that staff are applying directly to their daily work.

Staff at Hôpital Adventiste d’Haïti have started a football team, bringing together colleagues from across the hospital. Led in part by COO Mackenson Christophe, along with other hospital leaders, the team plays local groups, including nearby university employees. Sometimes, connection begins simply by showing up together.

The Malamulo Adventist Hospital dental team headed out for outreach in a local village again. This time, working alongside PAACS residents.

The Sherwins have long desired to expand community outreach and education, and 2026 marked the beginning. The dental team shared a short oral health talk and spent the day providing free extractions for those in need. Dr. Sherwin and two residents spoke with approximately 70–80 community members, addressing common myths and misconceptions about healthcare and disease. The surgery team also provided free screenings.

As Malamulo continues expanding outreach while strengthening essential hospital infrastructure, ongoing support and prayer remain vital.

In many of AHI’s hospitals across Africa, biomedical technicians keep lifesaving equipment running. Their work ensures patients receive safe, reliable care every day.

Over the last month, our techs completed key repairs and maintenance, including: fixing a hematology analyzer, removing a blockage from a suction machine, servicing a dialysis machine, repairing another suction unit, and performing preventive maintenance on an oxygen concentrator and AC units and much more.
