🌟 Marilyn’s Home Update 🌟

Marilyn has been home for a few months and is doing amazing! We recently received photos and videos of her sitting tall, walking in her gait trainer, and working hard in therapy. She’s showing just how strong and capable she really is. With family's encouragement, Marilyn is pushing through the hard moments and reaching new goals. It’s not always easy, but she’s thriving and proving that determination goes a long way.

Way to go, Marilyn. We are so proud of you!

Our Disney-themed summer continued with a magical day just for our girl residents! Thanks to the amazing staff, volunteers, and the TKids Thrive program, the Bippidy Boppidy Boutique came to life, complete with princess dresses, makeup, hair styling, tiaras, and even a photoshoot fit for royalty. 👑💄📸

The sparkle in their eyes said it all. Thank you to everyone who made this day so special! 💖

Stay tuned to see what the boys will do for their special day. Something fun is definitely in store!

💦 Water play fun at Totally Kids!

From splashing in kiddie pools to dipping hands in the water, swinging in the breeze, chasing bubbles, and exploring sensory toys—our residents had a blast! We kept cool in the shade, soaked up a little sun, and made some beautiful memories together. ☀️💙

After surviving a traumatic car accident, Ryion arrived at Totally Kids unable to walk, talk, eat, or breathe on his own. He had a severe brain injury and was in a minimally responsive state. Recovery felt uncertain, but his mother held onto something stronger than fear: faith.

"The best advice I could give is to keep hope alive, keep prayer alive, and lean on those around you," she shared. "Prayer is powerful."

Slowly, Ryion began to wake up. He was moved to acute rehab, and with every therapy session and small win, he pushed forward. The trach came out. The G-tube came out. His voice returned. Then came the steps. First shaky, then steady. One day, he was walking laps and calling it "light work."

The day he walked out of the hospital was unforgettable. His journey wasn’t easy, but it was filled with faith, family, and fierce determination.

Today, Ryion is thriving. And we are honored to have been part of his incredible story. 💙

After 28 years of dedication, compassion, and incredible care, our amazing Respiratory Therapist, Janet, has retired!
Janet has been a steady, kind, and reliable part of our respiratory team always putting our pediatric patients first, supporting her coworkers with heart, and building friendships that will last a lifetime. Her calm presence and the hand-picked fruits from her garden will be dearly missed!
Janet’s gentle touch and reassuring nature made a world of difference to our pediatric patients and their families. She brought comfort during some of their most difficult moments, and her legacy will live on in the lives she touched.
Thank you, Janet, for everything you’ve given to our department, our hospital, and most importantly, to our kids. We wish you all the best in this next chapter you’ve more than earned it!

After leaving Totally Kids last year to continue care out of state, Emmerit officially moved home with his family earlier this spring, and he’s doing great! 💙

Hospitals week was all about you. It gave us the chance to express just a fraction of the gratitude we carry each day for the heart, dedication, and compassion you pour into everything you do. Whether you're guiding children through complex challenges, showing up with strength and kindness during tough shifts, or filling our halls with laughter and light — you are what makes Totally Kids feel like home.

We hope the fun games, thoughtful activities, cozy new jackets, prizes, and delicious food brought a smile to your face and that the big surprise of an Employee Recognition Day at Knott’s Berry Farm reminded you just how deeply you’re appreciated.

Picture Day at Totally Kids was a hit! 🌸📷
Our residents got all dressed up, had their hair done, and smiled big for the Lifetouch photographers. Some even picked their own fun props like cool sunglasses and favorite toys to make their photos extra special. We also loved capturing sibling moments that families will cherish forever 💕

A big thank you to Lifetouch, especially Photographers Amanda, Priscilla, and Isaura, for creating such beautiful memories and to our incredible staff for helping each kiddo get ready and feel their best. We couldn’t have done it without you! 💖

🎉 WELCOME HOME, MARILYN! 🎉

We are overjoyed to share that Marilyn is finally home! After spending a big part of her journey with us at Totally Kids, Marilyn has returned home to her loving family. This milestone is filled with so much joy, pride, and emotion for all of us who’ve been part of her story. 💖

Before she left, our team threw Marilyn a heartfelt farewell party filled with smiles, music, and memories. We celebrated her incredible progress, shared laughs, and even a few happy tears. It was our way of saying, “You’ll always have a home in our hearts.”

Since being home, Marilyn has been living life to the fullest—going out to restaurants, shopping for new things like new shoes, getting her ears pierced, getting some tattoos, trying new foods as she relaxes on the couch, and even driving around at the park! She’s enjoying all the simple joys and big moments that come with being home, and it fills our hearts to see her thriving.

Congratulations to Marilyn’s family—your love and support made all of this possible.

🌧️🐣 Rain or shine, Easter magic always finds its way to Totally Kids! 💛

Our annual Easter party is one of our favorite traditions, and this year’s celebration came with a little twist—rain and chilly weather! But that didn’t stop the fun. With creativity and teamwork, we turned a gray day into bright memories.

Face painting and food were moved indoors to keep everyone warm and cozy, while the egg hunt brought excitement both inside and out—making sure every resident got in on the fun! The petting zoo was a crowd favorite as always, with little hands reaching out to pet bunnies, goats, sheep, and more—even in the cool breeze! 🐐🐑🐰

Inside, crafts, music, and a special visit from the Easter Bunny kept the energy high and the smiles wide. 🎶🎨🐇

Huge thanks to our incredible staff and volunteers for making the day so special—and an extra special shoutout to Giddy Up Ranch for the petting zoo, Ralston for the amazing face painting, Staci McGinty Ferraris and the bikers for their generous donations and support. 💕 You all helped turn a rainy day into something truly magical!
