🫀 **When Every Second Counts — A Life Saved by CPR** 🫀

Today I want to highlight the power of knowing CPR — and how one person’s training made all the difference. In September 2025, Mike Brown, a CPR instructor, was shopping at a TJ Maxx store in Cookeville, Tennessee, when he saw 27-year-old Zach Porter collapse suddenly from cardiac arrest. ([People.com][1])

While bystanders watched, Brown sprang into action — immediately beginning chest compressions to keep blood flowing until paramedics arrived. ([News Channel 5 Nashville (WTVF)][2]) Because of his rapid intervention, Porter not only survived but also preserved his brain function. ([People.com][1])

This is exactly why learning CPR matters so much:

✅ CPR administered quickly can double or triple survival chances in cardiac arrest.
✅ You don’t have to be a medical professional — training can empower *anyone* to help.
✅ In that moment, your response can be the line between life and loss.

Who is the one who will benefit from taking a CPR/AED class? Is it you? It could be. But more than likely it is for someone else to continue with life and the family and friends who care about the victim.

When people ask me why I’m so focused on accountability in CPR and First Aid training, my answer is simple: because the quality of training doesn’t just affect the student—it affects the person whose life may depend on them. Think about it. If you take a class that’s rushed, watered down, or...
