2020 has not gone the way anyone has planned (obviously) - my wedding & event season has been scaled down immensely. I am fortunate to be one of the few that still has a regular day job, so I still maintain a steady paycheck. For me, this time has been somewhat restorative, reflective, transformative. I’ve adjusted to working from home full time, as has my husband. This season has brought us closer, and for that, I’m grateful.

This weekend I made a simple gypsophila crown for Grace’s {socially distant} first communion. It’s been a while since I’ve had my hands in any flowers, I was so grateful inquired. *go check her out, she’s found a way to pivot to celebrate distantly, —so clever!*

In short, my heart goes out to those who are having to postpone this year. Those decisions are difficult and often have financial ramifications on top of emotional ones. To my 2020 couples, know I’m cheering you on from afar. We will celebrate together soon!

👋🏻 hey friends, Kim here {} ... time for a fireside chat 🔥

Anyone else’s heart feel a little heavy today? I’m a generally anxious person. Those that know me, know I’m managing my high-functioning anxiety a few different ways. I bake bread. A lot, a lot of bread. 🍞🥖🥐

I took up running last summer as a personal quest to prove I could do something I deemed impossible. I didn’t know it would be an outlet for more than just a mental challenge. I’m counting the minutes until we have consistent weather so I can hit the neighborhood roads instead of the track at the gym. 🏃🏻‍♀️

I also go to therapy weekly. 🗣 has been my outlet for almost 2.5 years now and it has been life changing. It’s teaching me to listen to myself, to feel my feelings and work on my repressed trauma.

I share this, knowing the world is in a scary place right now. A lot of anxiety and doom are filling the news, leaving us all a little downtrodden and sad. I see you, I feel you. I get it.

But there are a lot of things to be grateful for, a lot of things worth celebrating and loving in this time of crisis. I urge you all to find the joy, especially over these next few weeks. That, and wash ya dang hands! 🖐🏻

Grateful for my husband, - you make me laugh, even when the days are tough.

Grateful for our two, a-hole cats: Tony & Friday. 🐈

Planning the aspects of an event is a lot like putting a puzzle together. If you’re like me, you start by doing a brain dump- putting like pieces together, to make sense of the details later.

Then, I start with the boarder. Building the skeleton of the day. Logistics. Times. Dates. Details. Slowly, the picture comes into place.

Piece by piece, revision by revision, meeting after meeting, email after email, it takes shape, becoming something beautiful.

We kick our season off with a bang on Leap Day, I cannot wait.

Heading into the *quiet* part of the year Allium-wise, but that doesn’t mean is slowing down anytime soon. Spent the entire weekend with friends and family, I’m walking into Monday eating leftover quiche, (& a strong coffee) reflecting on this season of life. 🌿

Next on the docket: a therapy session followed by a fresh haircut by Amanda at my fave local salon, Fringe A Boutique Salon.

After a long weekend of dates, deadlines, cooking, & cleaning, I’m excited to spend a day on myself. 🙌🏻

The smell alone makes this baby worth it. A bit on the clove side, it rings spicy and sweet at the same time. Comes in soft whites, pale buttery yellows, blushy pink all the way to deep purple & raspberry. I use them anywhere I can, they’re incredibly versatile!

Sam and I are closing in on O N E, and I think of all of the things we’ve experienced as husband and wife. If excited me to know that there is a lot of life out there to be enjoyed. 🌿
