Parenting was never meant to become a popularity contest, and yet somewhere along the way, our children began taking cues from the playground instead of the people that love and care for them the most.
Khalil Center was honored to host Dr. Gabor Maté for an unforgettable event. Addressing a full house, Dr. Gabor unpacked the crisis of our time: when peers replace parents, identity becomes fragile and connection between parent-child becomes conditional.
Drawing from 𝘏𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘖𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘒𝘪𝘥𝘴, the conversation challenged attendees to rethink what has been normalized. Children were never meant to raise one another, and adults were never meant to withdraw from their divine responsibility. This event was a call to reclaim our roles; not through force, but through presence. Not through fear, but through attachment. Because when children reorient themselves to their parents, guidance, security, and love are restored.
A heartfelt thank you to Siya Coffee, Anjum Photography, and Natasha’s Treats for their exceptional contributions; each one elevating the gathering by making the event much more special.
