We are proud to recognize local veterans throughout the South Bay this November, honoring their service, sacrifice, and lasting impact on our community.

Sergeant Chris Segawa was drafted into the United States Army, serving from 1965 to 1967 and achieving the rank of E-5. He considers himself very fortunate to have served stateside during a time when so many were sent to Vietnam.

This month, we proudly honor Sergeant Segawa and all who have served our nation with dedication and humility.

Recording your wishes is one of the greatest gifts you can give your family. When the time comes, your loved ones shouldn’t have to guess what you would have wanted, your notes, your preferences, and even a few simple choices can bring them confidence, comfort, and peace.

At Coastal Funeral Center, we believe advance planning doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Whether you start with one decision or create a full plan, recording your wishes brings clarity and helps ensure your life is honored the way you envisioned. And with resources like the LYFE PLUM app, you can document your stories, store important documents, and preserve your legacy in your own voice.

Captain David M. Miyoshi served in the United States Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969. In January 1969, he was assigned to command a Combined Action Platoon in a village outside Da Nang, Vietnam, where his unit endured numerous attacks. He considers himself fortunate to have survived and remains deeply proud to have served his country.

This November, we honor Captain Miyoshi and all veterans for their courage, sacrifice, and dedication.

The Evolution of Coastal Funeral Center

A.M. Gamby is now Coastal Funeral Center

We are excited to share important news regarding the evolution of our company and extensive rebranding effort designed to mirror the success of our parent company, Green Hills Memorial Park.

The name change will allow us to present ourselves as truly the most innovative and trusted funeral provider in the South Bay and Palos Verdes Peninsula. As a staple in the community for 80+ years, we will continue our commitment to be a dedicated guardian of family and community heritage.

Our new company name and logo better expresses our concept to serve the families that trust us either in a time of need or advance planning. We have listened to feedback on what is expected today and have empowered our team to ensure a Life Celebrated Perfectly.
