Did you know you have choices when it comes to cataract surgery?

Today’s cataract procedures offer more than just clear vision—they offer the best vision possible, depending on your needs.

While there’s a standard lens that can restore your sight to how it was before, many patients are great candidates for upgraded lenses that correct astigmatism, nearsightedness, farsightedness—or even both. These premium lenses can reduce or even eliminate the need for glasses after surgery.

When you come in for cataract surgery, we’ll talk through all your options and help you choose the one that fits your lifestyle best.

What is a cataract—and how do you know if you have one?

When we’re young, the natural lens in our eye is clear. But as we age, that lens starts to become cloudy—and that’s what we call a cataract. It’s a natural part of getting older for most people, though some may develop cataracts earlier due to things like diabetes, eye trauma, or steroid use.

Because the change is gradual, you might not notice it right away. That’s why regular visits to your optometrist are so important—they can catch those early signs before vision loss starts affecting your daily life.

If you’re noticing things look a little less sharp than they used to, or if it’s just been a while since your last eye exam, it might be time to check in.

Wondering if you might have cataracts?

For many people, it starts slowly—like more glare from headlights at night or just thinking their glasses aren’t working as well anymore.

Because the vision loss is gradual and painless, a lot of patients don’t even realize it’s happening. Often, it’s an optometrist who spots the change and refers them for treatment.

If you've noticed subtle changes in your vision, or it's been a while since your last eye exam, it might be time for a checkup.

We’re here to help you see clearly again.

Can you still get cataracts if you’ve had an ICL?

Yes—it’s totally possible, and it’s also totally manageable.

As we age, most of us will eventually develop cataracts, whether we’ve had an ICL or not. But here’s the good news: if you had an ICL when you were younger, we can simply remove it at the same time we take out the cataract and replace it with a new lens—all in one smooth procedure.

No stress, no surprises—just clear vision, again.

LASIK isn’t for everyone—and that’s okay.

If your prescription is too strong or your corneas are too thin, there are other safe, effective options.

For very nearsighted patients, the EVO ICL lens implant offers a quick, painless solution. And for those who are farsighted or starting to use reading glasses, a lens exchange procedure might be the better fit.

Every eye is different. We’ll help you find the right path to clear vision.

How many follow-up visits do you need after LASIK?

Not as many as you might think—and we make the process easy.
Most patients come in the very next day so we can take a quick look and make sure everything’s healing properly (which it usually is!). About a week later, your optometrist checks in to see how you're doing, and then we’ll see you again around the one-month mark.

From there, we’ll check on your vision and healing a few more times over the first year. It’s all part of making sure your eyes are healthy and your results last. And if anything, ever feels off, you can count on us to be here for you—right away.

Just had LASIK? Here's what to avoid that first week.

Recovery is simple, but protecting your eyes during that first week is important.

You’ll want to avoid dusty, windy environments and keep anything dirty or irritating—like makeup, lotions, or sunscreen—away from your eyes. Your eyes might feel a little sensitive or dry, so artificial tears and sunglasses can help keep you comfortable.

Good news? You can still shower and bathe as normal, and by the end of the week, most patients are back to full activity.

It’s a small window of care for a lifetime of clear vision!
