2024 Holiday Events in London, KY – Celebrate the Season in the Christmas Capital of Kentucky!
The holiday spirit is in full swing, and London has a spectacular lineup of events to spread joy and cheer! Here’s a look at just a few things that are happening around town over the next few weeks:
Thanksgiving Sale at the Farmers Market
Come on down to the London-Laurel Co. Farmer's Market on Tuesday, November 27 from 5p.m.-8p.m. for their Pre-Thanksgiving Sale this season! Find something tasty or crafty and grab a Shop Local coupon worth $10, valid at participating locations during Shop Local Weekend! You’ll also receive a complimentary shopping bag to use for all your holiday finds!
Shop Local Weekend & Mistletoe Market
Celebrate the holiday season by shopping local in London, KY! Join us for Shop Local Weekend from November 29 to December 3, where you can support small businesses around town and find unique gifts and great deals. Make sure and snag a coupon at the Farmers Market on the Tuesday evening before the event! The coupon will be good at over 3 dozen local businesses! Also, register via QR Code at each participating location for a chance to win a prize package valued at over $1,000! (Prize package of gift cards!)
The Mistletoe Market takes place on Saturday, November 30, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the London Community Center, offering special items from local vendors and a free gift for the first 100 shoppers through the door. Over 40 crafters and makers will be set up offering a variety of items for your holiday lists!
Town Center Tree Lighting
Join us as we light up the Christmas tree at Town Center Park on Tuesday, December 3! Festivities start with live music at 5:30p.m. followed by the tree lighting at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy the singing Christmas tree, beautiful decorations, and thousands of lights with a dazzling light show every 30 minutes starting at 6:00 p.m. daily until the end of the season. Bring the family to experience the holiday magic!
Lights Around London Christmas Driving Tour
From December 1 through 31, drive around London-Laurel County to enjoy beautifully decorated homes and businesses. Vote for your favorite display via Venmo to support London’s Shop with a Cop Chapter. To register your home or business visit lightsaroundlondon.com. A full list of participating locations and voting details will be released on December 1!
Randy Smith’s Christmas on Main
Experience the magic of “A Storybook Christmas” at the Randy Smith Christmas on Main Parade on Friday, December 6. This beloved parade, a 30+year tradition, will feature twinkling lights and joyous sounds to welcome the season. Before the parade, enjoy Live Music at the Court House steps and the Children’s Christmas Book Walk , where local business owners will read holiday stories at stops throughout downtown. Both begin at 5:30p.m. followed by the parade at 7p.m. Festivities continue after the parade at the Farmers Market. Want to join the parade? Christmas Concerts by the London Community Orchestra & Southeast Kentucky Christmas Chorus
Fill your holiday season with music! The London Community Orchestra will perform Christmas classics on Saturday, December 7 at 7:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. The Southeast Kentucky Christmas Chorus, featuring singers from across the region, follows with another beautiful concert on Sunday, December 8 at 4:00 p.m., also at First Baptist Church.
Lights Over London Christmas Drone Show
Mark your calendars for the Lights Over London drone show on Friday, December 13! Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m., with two drone shows lighting up the sky: the first at 7:30 p.m. and the second at 9:00 p.m. Enjoy the dazzling display from Broad Street or other areas downtown, with Town Center as the main hub of activity featuring food trucks, live music, costumed characters and more!
New Year’s Eve Ball Drop
Ring in 2025 in style with London’s New Year’s Eve celebration on Main Street! Starting at 9:00 p.m., enjoy live music by Andrew Moore & H***h and countdown to midnight for the thrilling ball drop. Join us downtown for a night of music, fun, and celebration!
