Today our hearts are heavy at Laurel Medical Services as we remember a very special patient who recently passed away.

It is difficult to put into words how much some patients come to mean to us. Over time they become more than patients — they become part of our clinic family.

We want to extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt prayers to his family during this incredibly difficult time. It has been an honor to care for not only him, but also many members of his wonderful family who we are grateful to know.

Please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We are so thankful to have known him and to have been a small part of his life.

Happy Birthday to our incredible Debbie! 🎉💗

Debbie is the heart behind so much of what happens at Laurel Medical Services. From opening the clinic bright and early each morning, obtaining stat referrals at lightning speed, coordinating patient schedules with grace, cleaning toilets without complaint, decorating our space to make it feel warm and welcoming — she truly does it all.

And let’s not forget… she’s the reason all of our plants are still alive and thriving 🌿✨ Her green thumb is just one more example of the care she pours into everything around her.

Debbie, we are so thankful for your dedication, your work ethic, and the quiet way you keep this place running smoothly every single day. LMS wouldn’t be the same without you.

🚨 Public Health Alert for Kentucky 🚨

A new synthetic opioid, Cyclorphine, has been detected in Kentucky. It is reported to be 10 times stronger than fentanyl and is being mixed into other illicit substances — often without users knowing.

Even extremely small amounts can be fatal. Naloxone may only partially reverse its effects, but it can still save lives.

Please stay alert. If you suspect an overdose:
📞 Call 911 immediately
💉 Administer naloxone
🫶 Stay with the person until help arrives

This is about awareness and saving lives in our community. Please share.

‼️PLEASE READ‼️

Today was not a day we ever want to experience again.
One of our providers was physically assaulted inside our clinic.
Our front office staff and administrators were verbally assaulted while simply doing their jobs.

Healthcare workers across the country are facing rising violence. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, healthcare workers are 5 times more likely to experience workplace violence than workers in other industries. The CDC reports that nearly 1 in 4 nurses report being physically assaulted on the job. These numbers are unacceptable — and today, our clinic became part of that statistic.

To the patients who were in our building today — those who witnessed the incident or overheard the commotion from exam rooms — we are deeply sorry.❤️‍🩹 We NEVER set out for this to be anyone’s experience at Laurel Medical Services🪷. Our mission has always been to provide compassionate, safe, community-centered care. What occurred today does not reflect who we are.

‼️Let us be absolutely clear‼️
We will 🛑NOT🛑 tolerate ANY form of verbal abuse, threats, intimidation, or physical assault toward our staff or providers‼️
Anyone who engages in this behavior in our facility will be removed immediately and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Healthcare is a place for healing. Our team deserves to feel safe while caring for this community.

We want to sincerely thank the London City Police Department for their swift response and professionalism, and Laurel County EMS and London City Fire Dept for their support and assistance.

We have truly loved celebrating this Valentine’s season with each of you! From the treats and smiles to the laughs shared in the waiting room — you made our days brighter. Our hearts were especially full reading all the sweet “love notes” you left for our staff… we will cherish every one of them!

A special moment today melted us — two of our smallest visitors already know exactly how to share love between sisters. They were caught all hugged up during their grandma’s appointment, and it was the sweetest reminder of what this day is really about…. Each other❤️
