Another success story!!🥳🥳🥳

When Colton first began receiving services at A&A, he presented with a severe speech and language disorder that impacted his ability to communicate with others in different settings. Colton has now met all of his goals and can now communicate his basic wants and needs by asking and answering questions and maintaining conversation with others. Colton has worked very hard, and Miss Erin will miss him so much!!❤️

Meet Gertrude!!!!

Let’s be honest, office work can be tough. But luckily, we have Gertrude (or "Gertie" to her close friends) joining our team this spring, replacing the traditional boring desk plant. She is a 28-inch, 70lbs concrete beauty with her unique style, kind eyes and great listening skills.

A few of fun facts about Gertie..

Fashion Icon: She loves new outfits and changes often. From her 4th of July outfit to her "back to school" attire, her style is impeccable.

Zero Noise Complaints: She honks, but only with her eyes.

Great Listener: She is great for venting and never judges mistakes or choices.

Happy National Speech-Language-Hearing Month!

🗣️ May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month and May 18th is National Speech-Language Pathologist Day. This month is dedicated to raising awareness about communication disorders and the professionals who help individuals improve their speech, language, and hearing. We are proud to recognize our team of incredible Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs).

At A&A, our SLPs go above and beyond every day to support our patients and families helping build communication skills, gain confidence, and reach meaningful goals. At Alexander and Associates we believe all jobs are important. The janitor's job is just as important as the administrator. To give back to our community we gave developed the Kindness Award. This award will recognize a very special person in our community that goes above and beyond in their job duties , but also displays kindness to others.

Our very first kindness award was given to Vernie Ooten. Vernie works in the Cafeteria at South Laurel High School. She interacts with the kids daily making them feel special and loved. Vernie has even been known to pay for kids food with her own money, when they didn't have the money for extra food. Help us Congratulate Vernie and show appreciation for the kindness she displays to all the kids on the south side! Go Cards!!!

Another success story!!! 🥳🥳🥳
Miles has been receiving skilled OT services to address poor attention to task which was impacting age appropriate development of play/social skills, self care skills, and fine motor skills. Through OT treatment, Miles’ attention span was increased to age appropriate levels, improving ability for development. Miles is now using eating utensils age appropriately, is copying all pre-writing lines and shapes, and has emerging scissor skills. Furthermore, Miles will tolerate turn taking age appropriately and can play simple games. We will miss him, but we are so proud of his accomplishments! ❤️
