We are now sold out of honey. Thank you to all who purchased!

We have a very limited quantity of honey for sale. The weather/rain hurt honey production this year. It is $20 a quart. No pints this year.

Sometimes it feels like you need to be a lawyer or a chemist to make a simple trip to the grocery store. Wouldn’t it be nice if food was just food and we

Even though I posted earlier in the spring/summer about our situation- we have continued to receive messages and calls asking when we will open. So I will repost our situation- We have CLOSED the pumpkin patch due to my husband being diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer and then a couple of months later one of my parents diagnosis of cancer. We just have too much going on right now and cannot continue with the pumpkin patch/corn maze.
We loved our 5 years we were in business and it is breaking our hearts as the fall approaches and we are not preparing to open.
We encourage you to visit the many other farms which are available in the tri-county area as well as Jackson and Pulaski. They are all excellent and all have something different to offer.
We have appreciated those who have reached out in prayer for us- that is what is getting us thru all of this right now. Thank you, Debbie and Ivan Reed

Since 1970, more than 90 percent of all U.S. dairy farms have closed due to low milk prices and industry restructuring. Recently, a corporate decision by Walmart led to the shutdown of a three-generation family-run dairy farm in Kentucky. We followed the Coombs family as they're forced to sell off t...

To all of our customers, friends and family- you have made the last 5 years the most enjoyable years for us! We have loved getting to know each and everyone of you.
It is with heavy hearts we have had to make the decision to close the gates at Rooster Ridge Ridge permanently. This decision was not an easy one and we have tried to come up with various ways we could stay open but it is not meant to be.
While Ivan is responding well to treatment, he is still not released by the doctor to resume the duties a pumpkin patch requires. Even if he was, he just does not have the energy and strength. Then we found out a few weeks ago that cancer wasn’t through with our family. An immediate family member, who wishes to be unnamed, was diagnosed. Between Ivan and that family member - our summer will be busy.
So once all of this came into our decision making, we had no choice but to shut our doors.
We will miss seeing our regulars, the new families and the schoolchildren. You gave us so much joy!
For those who always buy from us-we will try to continue to do our honey harvesting and post on this page when it’s available.
God bless you all and thank you for all the prayers. We know Ivan wouldn’t be doing as well as he is if it wasn’t for all the prayers.
Love to all,
Ivan and Debbie Reed

When we took this picture in November with our 6 beautiful grandchildren, we were standing there with the diagnosis of Stage 4 lung cancer, prognosis 6 months to 2 years. We truly thought this was our last picture and last Thanksgiving.
But with everyone’s prayers, wonderful doctors and a wonder medicine- an immunotherapy... we now have hope!
Ivan’s tumors are beginning to shrink. The doctors can already see that one of the tumors left behind some damage- his spine is fractured- but we hope to get a plan of action for that soon.
We truly believe prayer has played the biggest role in all of this. We still have a long road ahead but as long as we have prayer on our side we can beat this! So thank you to all of our prayer warriors ! 💓

Thank you to everyone who shared my post concerning the miniature horses and our Tennessee Walker. One of our horses new owners informed me last night after asking what and how many animals we had on the farm...we have over 100 critters to care for. So just finding homes for some of the larger ones helps tremendously.
As of now, all the miniature horses appear to have found good homes. The last two will leave later this week.
Our Tennessee Walker, T.J. is still looking for a new home. If you know of someone in the market for an older gentleman who is registered, please let them know we have to find a new home for him.

It is with heavy hearts we must share the following news. Our patriarch of the Rooster Ridge family and owner of the farm, Ivan Reed, has been diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. At this time we face a hard battle ahead and therefore our future is uncertain.
To make our current situation a little easier and a little less stressful, we are downsizing our farm animals. We are selling our 3 miniature horses (males) as well as our Tennessee Walker. We are posting a picture of two of the horses and can provide other pictures if needed. The donkey and llama are not for sale.
If you are interested or know someone interested, have them message us here at Rooster Ridge Farm.
We need to downsize quickly the number of animals we are trying to take care of....so thanks ahead of time!

Well folks after doing a walk-thru of the farm we have realized that the cold temperatures did not help the mess the rain created like we had hoped. We also experienced the bone-freezing wind chill....which is running about 6 degrees colder than the actual temp. Right now the wind chill puts the temperature at 31 degrees outside. With that said, this is just too dangerous of conditions for customers and us to be out and about.

We unfortunately WILL NOT be able to open today!

We do want to thank everyone who came out this year to visit. We never dreamed we would make it to the 5th year but we did- and it’s all thanks to great customers! Thank you!

Update:
Due to extremely cold temperatures/wind chills and mud, we have determined conditions are not safe enough to open. We are NOT open today. Thanks for making this a great year!
