Speech In Action!

We started our therapy off with Cars, building them a road that turned into a tunnel and ended up as a race track!
We threw in a little Cariboo for good measure.
We ended with fruit/color sorting.
(Targets: /j/ initial , pronoun + aux +-ing, prepositional phrases, /w/ medial, and inflection embedded within carrier phrases throughout our activities).

Don’t Let The Bugs Fall

We LOVE ❤️ getting new games at Little Speech House! It not only gets our little communicators engaged, but it also helps keep therapy new and exciting! 💃🏼

SLP Tip: This game is fast moving as our bugs love to topple down quickly! Pair this game with a jumbo dice to see how many words you need to choose to practice before you can play a round of DLTBF!

When you’re building you can practice your positional and location concepts of first, second, third, etc., and middle, next to, under, above, sideways, etc.!

You can practice same/different, color, and number concepts too!

We love a multifunctional game at LSH 🤪

🔤Preschool concepts▪️🔺🔹

Speech therapy isn’t always just working on speech clarity! Our professional “umbrella” covers speech sound acquisition and learning, language acquisition and learning, social pragmatic language, play skills, early/preschool concepts, phonological awareness (pre-reading) skills (..and more!) 😅

Today we used every SLPs favorite game (Cariboo) to practice (repeatedly) our shape and letter concepts, as well as some location concepts (top, middle, bottom, next to)!

SLP Tip: Try mass practice of one shape/letter at a time. Our friend was verbally labeling and physically pointing to all instances of that shape/letter on the game board and cards and it really helped solidify shape and letter name learning for him today!
