I’ve noticed a few new faces around here, so a quick re-intro feels right.
Hi, I’m Dawn. Founder + CEO of The Managed Home.
This all started in 2021. I was working a very traditional 9–5 in the tail end of COVID and needed something to focus on that wasn’t… the chaos of the world. So I launched Declutterize with Dawn (an in-home organizing company).
In 2023, I left that very secure, well-paying job to take DWD full-time. Still wild to say out loud. I’m not a risk-taker. I’m a planner with a backup plan for my backup plan. But I knew I wanted more.
After organizing dozens of homes, I started seeing a pattern. The clutter wasn’t the only problem; it was the mental load …the invisible labor.
And I was living it too.
The planning. The lists. The bills. The meals. The logistics. My husband helps a lot—this wasn’t a lack of support. It was my need to make everything run perfectly, on my timeline.
I remember sitting at my desk, staring at my never-ending to-do list and thinking… How is anyone actually keeping up with this? While working full-time? While raising kids?
That’s when The Managed Home was born.
Today, we’re a team of three (and growing), supporting 11 families and giving them back nearly 50 hours of time every single week.
Because being capable doesn’t mean you have to do everything yourself!
