Floral beeswax 💐🐝 It’s been about a year since I have crafted any tools for my practice (or to offer for sale). After seeing a few honey bees this morning stretching their wings in the sun, I also felt like re-emerging. 🌞 This block of beeswax was used for Mullein torches a few seasons back and the floral remnants of that project remain. I’ve been thinking of dipping candles for a while and today feels like a perfect afternoon for a test batch or 2. Stay tuned! 🕯️

✨41✨ I wasn’t sure if I’d make it into the water this year. Yes, it was frigid and we did get a bit of snow last night, but that wasn’t it. I just wasn’t feeling it. Life was so different a year ago and I don’t feel like the Ocean and I kept our promises to each other; life just moved in a different direction. I haven’t felt connected to the water and was hesitant to even walk down (first pic). When I got to the edge, I felt the invitation I was hoping for. Before I could peel off my second sock the gentle wave had reached out to me with a caress which was warmer than I expected. Where I had stood on sand before I was now in water (pic 2). I didn’t have to walk in, she reached out to me. My relationship with the Ocean has shifted with her tides these past few years and while I feel more connected, that change also brought the risk of potential disconnection. Perhaps this is what I’m really feeling in my life now; the notion that once you grab and hold something, you’ve also assumed the risk of dropping it. There is no progress, growth, or transformation without the unknown. Tomorrow also marks 10 years since my father’s death. Time that has felt like the blink of an eye also feels like a lifetime. Reconciling this past decade feels like a persistent wound, a constant state of needing healing. It’s exhausting. For the first time in a long time I truly don’t know what’s next. Many things are beyond my control and accepting that is its own lifelong challenge. Driving away from the shoreline only to have a rainbow cuddled with the setting sun was a sight I could have never anticipated (pic 3). Maybe that’s the opportunity of this new year; the potential for beauty in the unexpected. It’s there, around every corner we only need to receive it.

All Nor’Eastern Herb Company, LLC products are made by hand in small batches in Manchester, NH using non-GMO and organic ingredients when available. Wholesale, bulk, and custom quantities and packaging may be available upon request.
