October 25 is national drug take back day, providing a safe, convenient and anonymous way to dispose of unused or expired medications. Too often unused prescription medications find their way into the wrong hands. As caregivers and members of the HCA HealthONE family, we are committed to helping bring awareness to the dangers of prescription drug addiction and the importance of proper medication disposal. We are proud to partner with City of Lone Tree Government and Parker Police Department to "Crush the Crisis " on Saturday, October 25.

We were able to recruit a few of our HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge nurses for this photo as we celebrate and thank our Emergency Nurses this week and every week. They are the ONEs who are here for our community 24/7, 365. In fact, our team recently cared for a patient who was brought to our ER by ambulance with severe chest pain. Within 16 minutes, this patient was in our cardiac cath lab, and another life was saved. We are grateful for the excellent care our team provides every day at our hospital and at our free-standing ER in Parker. In any emergency, call 911 to initiate care sooner. Laura Wren, RN and Sepsis Coordinator at HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge, is a dedicated healthcare professional who collaborates with our medical teams to care for suspected or confirmed patients with sepsis. She provides education and resources to identify and treat sepsis quickly. Laura shares, "I have a passion for early sepsis recognition and treatment to stop sepsis and get patients back on track quickly. Early signs of sepsis can include fever, difficulty breathing, low blood pressure, fast heart rate and mental confusion. Sepsis is a medical emergency and you should seek ER care immediately." The inpatient rehabilitation center at HCA HealthONE Sky Ridge is a 20-bed unit treating a wide range of diagnoses from trauma and stroke to complex orthopedic conditions. We were honored to be ranked in the top 10 percent of 886 inpatient rehabilitation facilities in the country by Netsmart Technologies!
