***GLP-1 UPDATE***
With Lily and NOVO taking Semaglutide and Tirzepatide off the shortage list, the FDA is in a position to have compounding pharmacies cease and desist from making these medications for patients across the United States. What this means for you is you would no longer be able to get these medications unless you have a prescription on file sent in to your local pharmacy for the name brand medications, which may or may not be in stock and also may or may not be covered by your insurance. If they are not covered by your insurance for weight loss medications, they can range from $550-1,800 a month. I mention weight loss meds because most individuals needing them for diabetes management are covered by insurance. The FDA must take into consideration how many people are getting meds from compounding pharmacies across the United States and the big pharma companies have to prove that they have enough of a supply to take care of the demand for most doses. This is a slipperly slope since we know who is in bed with who. What you can do to help with accurate reporting is file a report directly to the FDA showing a shortage of name brand Wegovy™ Zepbound™ Ozempic™ and Mounjaro™ When they receive these reports, they document it, and it prolongs and potentially helps the process of keeping these medications on the shortage list and available to you. Here are the steps and images to help.

2) Scroll midway down to “Report New Drug Shortage:
