Not all lasers are the same — and they’re not categorized by brand name.

They’re categorized by what they target.

Every laser or light device interacts with something called a chromophore — the structure in the skin that absorbs light energy.

There are three main chromophores:

• Melanin (pigment)
• Hemoglobin (blood vessels)

The wavelength determines which chromophore absorbs the energy.

Today I allowed another provider to perform a non-invasive lifting treatment on my face. As someone who is extremely selective about who touches my skin, this was a thoughtful decision.
